As noted in the original post in this thread, MU was the lead story at least on Channels 58 and 4 plus the 58 sports anchor said "The Golden Eagles pulled off the upset...."
And this from a station where we air the Rob Jeter show

You guys would've loved the convo that I had with one of my friend's boyfriend from Marquette. Here were his main points... 1- "Yeah well at least we don't play in the Horizon League" 2- "Yeah well, at least we play in the Big East" 3- "Oh, like YOU'd beat Alabama..." (LOL!) 4- "Yeah well, your conference is so lame that they hold the championship in the U.S. Cellular every year because the Bradley Center doesn't want it." I... am... ROLLING right now  |

I really didn't say much. I just laughed and thanked him for my daily dose of Marquette elitism.
But yes, the one about Alabama was great.
Is it possible that people actually think the Horizon League tournament is scheduled here yearly? He must've been joking... I hope.

Believe it or not most Marquette fans actually root for UWM, and want a game between the two teams because it'd be a cool rivalry.
Don't let the idiotic opinions of a few people associated with Marquette cloud your view of the rest... now that said, I have encountered Marquette people from Illinois, and sadly most of them are jackasses.

i think it's hilarious that they can't beat an Alabama team that isn't even half the team we faced last year in the tourney!! for the second straight year we have bragging rights in MILWAUKEE!!! GO PANTHERS

I liked a couple of things I heard on the news. Bud saying that this is for Milwaukee and Chris Hill saying that we are the only team in the country to have the word "Milwaukee" on its jerseys and they couldn't go out with a loss to OU.
That's what the Department has to do. Point out that this team has Milwaukee values. Get the whole town behind us. I"ve suggested that to Asst. AD Clark and he said they are going to try to do that. Apparently they are.

I can already see the windows of the US Bank building selectively illuminated to say "UWM" once again this year...and facing Westward to be sure the Marquette campus has a great view of it!
