I especially like our chances now that I read that article. Its quite obvious that he doesnt know anything about our team and coach.

Agreed.
I love his philosophy that everything is a "clean slate" now. It may be a clean slate next October but right now everything is still based on everything that has happend prior in the season. Still have the same players...your season record seeded you where you are...
And even better is his talking about our press and the current coach used to be Pearl's assistant. Not once was Jeter's name ever mentioned either.
This should be interesting>....
Go Panthers.!

Perfect indication that we get NO RESPECT from major coaches. Looks like he will learn about us when he looks up and they are down 10.

At least he said we have a great program, and gave RJ some locker room fodder to feed to the guys.

Coach Sampson was on the Jim Rome radio show today too. They mostly talked about the tournament in general and only touched on UWM briefly.
He did say that he knows about UWM and "the best player on their team is Joah Tucker" and compared Joah to BJ Tucker of Texas.
He also commented on UWM's athleticism, top-notch guard play and full-court pressure defense.
When they were discussing the tournament in general, he talked about confidence and moxy. And said that teams w/ seniors, especially ones who had been to the tourney before, already had a sort of swagger. And that teams like that wouldn't be caught off-guard by the "bright lights" on the "big stage".
Again, he wasn't talking specifically about UWM, but he might as well have been.
7 seniors, all of who played big minutes in last year's tourney.

He was probably interviewed right after the seed was announced. I bet he didn't know a lot about UWM till after the interview.

The interview took place Monday around Noon. If he hadn't done his homework between the time he had on Sunday night and Monday morning...I feel sorry for OU. If The Sopranos is more important than prepping for a battle in the 1st round of the NCAA's, then I like UWM's chances even more.

I especially like our chances now that I read that article. Its quite obvious that he doesnt know anything about our team and coach. We got to remember that there are around 325 Division 1-A teams in college basketball. It's going to be pretty darn hard for every college coach to be knowledge about every single program.

You can't expect the guy to know the ins and outs of our team. That's why they announce seedings in advance. IT gives his team time to learn us.
To his credit, there were some people associated with UWM that mentioned they didn't know too much about OU either.

Your original post was immediately following my post about the radio interview and I figured that's what you were talking about as the subject/material was relatable. Confusion on both parts...sorry for my part!

I didn't listen to the Rome interview because Rome is an idiot and doesn't know how to interview people just like he doesn't know how to run a show. So you never get a thing out of an interview from him.

The problem with Jim Rome is that I never know who he is interviewing. He never mentions who he's talking to when the interview is going on. [/sarcasm]
