Just wanting to hear some thoughts on the games tonight. Who you think is going to win? Any upsets? Who you'd like to win? Based on the notion that UWM could be facing these teams very soon.
(9)YSU at (4)Loyola: I'd rather play YSU, obviously. The fact that Schilb was fairly quiet in the previous 2 games against UWM scares me. I think he's due for a big game, in a big game.
(8)CSU at (5)Detroit: Bring on Detroit. CSU could be a sleeper with the physical play they bring.
(7)WSU at (6)UIC: The winner of this one plays UWGB...and I'd prefer to watch UIC vs. GB b/c WSU is a tough team to be a 7 seed.
Thoughts?

I like Loyola over YSU. Schilb for some reason does not concern me as much. It seems like we have some guys that give him fits between Tuckers size, McCoys height and Smiths quickness it seems to never allow him to get into a rythem of any sort.
Detroit will not lose at home and CSU is a far cry from a good team.
Between Detroit and Loyola, Detroit scares me the most. Their quickness of Cotton and Goode (sp) plus they can shoot. They have some bigs that can play with AT and Tucker inside.
The Wright St/UIC game should be the best of the first round. UIC has some how gotten their act together and Wright St has Wood (ha) enough said. I think Wright St gets this win but dont see it as an upset. I will watching this one online tonight.
Second Round
I like Detroit over Loyola in a low scoring game that goes back and forth. Guard play for Detroit wins them the game. Loyola can get the W in Schilb has a big game and they are able to control the boards and limit Detroits second shot chances (killed Butler @ Detroit on Sat.) Would like to see Loyla win though since I think it is a better match up game for us with UWM having an decisive edge.
I like Wright St over GB with the youngesters cracking under pressure. Coach K has a terrible post season track record and I expect to see that continue at least through this year. I would like to see GB win beacuse that would be one less team that concerns me from our end but just do not see it happening.

You may have a 2nd round dilemma on your hands if it's UIC/UWGB...who do you root for....or root against?

I WANT GB! With that in mind, they'll be the team I'm pulling for come Friday... and Saturday, as much as it sickens me.

BTW, when it comes to the issue of despise...
I'm going to say I hate poor man more than Collins. Here's why: -poor man's coach k is a disgrace to the state of Wisconsin. - Jimmy is a disgrace to college basketball as a whole.
... and, since I have more direct pride in the state of Wisconsin than I do in college basketball, poor man is more despicable to me.
By some kind of miracle, I really want to see us play the Phoenix on Tuesday.

Can you imagine a UWM vs. UWGB Horizon Tourney Championship game? That would be nuts!
Now, I don't like Kowal-sick anymore than I like Jimmy Collins or Biancardi or Perry Watson for that matter, but I have to ask...
why such a dislike for the poor man's Coach K? What did he do to cause such hatred for him?

poor mans is a baby first off...im not threatened by the man, but I think he says stuff to make UWM look bad like I wasnt concerned with Ryan (tillema) going to UWM as long as Bruce was there..plus he is from that Izzo-Crean Fraternity..and I hate both and he is a disciple..

why such a dislike for the poor man's Coach K? What did he do to cause such hatred for him? Where to begin? I'll get the ball rolling with... his verbal confrontation with Tony Jones at GB three years ago telling TJ he'll never be a head coach. His jig at half court after last year's victory over the Panthers. His dumb ass comments such as FDU is better than any Horizon league team and his recruiting classes are tops. His trashing of potential recruit Dupree Fletcher's character after it was apparent Fletcher wasn't going to GB. His practice of getting rid of players who were his recruiting mistakes so he could get the scholarship back. His love of his hair. He coaches at UWGB. Just a preliminary list. I'm sure dylanrocks and pantherholic have their favorites.

The Tony Jones thing really soured me on him. He told Tony to get off the court and things nearly got physical.
The FDU thing was bad in my book too. It's okay to compliment an opponent, as in "They're a really good team well coached, blah blah blah. It's not okay to dis your conference like that. If GB plays Duke then he can certainly say they'd beat anyone in the HL. But FDU is nowhere near Duke's level and I think the Panthers would kick their arses around the block three times in the first half alone. I think Futler would beat them handily too.
And given the actions of some GB fans as noted in another thread, I gotta wonder why he hasn't asked them to cool. That kind of crap happening behind the benches can't have escaped his notice.

My favorite poor man moment was when he cried to Bud about Holic's "Tilemma Hates Diversity" sign. Man, that was a funny night in general. I heard from somebody up north that he was on the radio bashing us the other night. I think Holic found the transcript. Maybe he'll be able to shed some light on it.
