Enough Loyola. Two huge games that could end the HL race this weekend.
Wood just dropped 35 on YSU, and they always play us tough. Along with Butler finding its 3-point stroke last night, is a split a reasonal expectation for our road weary boys this weekend?
Thoughts?
P.S. (Who is going to BU on Saturday?)

WSU is the biggest game of the year (aren't they all?). GB is at BU on Thursday, it's reasonable to expect a BU win which would put them at 6 - 3 in conference. I don't want to play at Hinkle only one up in the loss column. A win at WSU is huge, we need the cushion.

Everyone try to make it to Butler. They are having some 150th anniversary of the school that Saturday. They will be pumped. We need to bring as much fan support as possible. Plus its a great place for a game. Hope to see everyone there.

I certainly hope we can escape this stretch without any scratches but its going to be tough...Every road game scares me, but these next two at the Nutter Center and at Hinkle are going to be especially tough...We are as road tested as any team in the nation so hopefully our boys come to play and we get er done and basically take home the HL title nice and early

Keep in mind that road losses don't really hurt your RPI too much with the new formula. The only thing a loss in one of these next two games would do is provide us with a bit worse of a winning percentage, which is 25% of the RPI calculation. If we lose to someone outside of the top 150 in the RPI, that usually counts against you as well. Wright State would qualify, but Butler may be RPI top 100 by the time we play them.

one factor that we have working for us is that the NCAA hearings for Biancardi and O'Brien resume in Chicago less than 24 hours after our game. you gotta figure that'll be not only be on his mind but on his $3 sports jacket as well.

Alright guys, lets start talking about this important game tonight..BIG game..yeah I know we say that about all of the games, but with a win tonght, (and maybe a butler loss??) followed up by a huge win on saturday, has us on the brink on the horizon league three peat.....
So the question is.. Who is going to step up tonight? Is it going to be Joah?Boo? Tigert? Naww, tonight I think Chris hill is going to step up! Joah will get his points, Boo will be getting doubled everytime he touches the ball..so if he can swing the ball Hill will be open and get his good looks!!

Very solid thinking, bunk.
Chris Hill will get some good looks tonight, but I think all the point guards will be huge tonight.
I think Avo will be instrumental in shutting down DaShaun Wood. Wood usually does well against man to man defense, but he will not be used to the raw athleticism and energy that Avery Smith will force on him. I say Avo has 3 steals. I think Allan Hanson will get better looks than Chris Hill. Chris Hill, like Avo, will be useful on the defensive end. In the first matchup, Wood missed a sh*tload of shots because our point guards locked down on him. Hill, Smith, and Hanson all challenged his shots, and he put up a lot of bad attempts.
What worries me most about Wood is he can flat out draw a foul. He is much like Tucker in that respect, and he will drive the lane and get the foul.

When I think stepping up I think of a guy who will bring much more than normal. Can't really expect more than what Tucker, Boo and Tigert give the team night in and night out. I would look to see two guys tonight help the team with those two being Smith and Ford. Like Jimmy said Avo should be huge on the defensive end on Wood and Ford if he can get off to a good start can give us the size we need to pound this team down low early to get them into foul trouble again.
Still waiting for a breakout game from Messiah and would love to see another 10 point outburst from Young. As long as they come in bunches next year I will be happy.
