There would be nothing to gain at this point. What would the terms be? Where would the games be played? Forget it. It's not going to happen. Move on.

yawn. yawn.... man its contagious..... dont really care to play marq. i will even take the stance that they have to improve their program so it is beneficial to us when we play them. ie we dont get stuck with a drop off team like air force or the jaspers. we dont need anymore bad SOS or RPI.

I have to disagree with most of you on this one. This blows my mind the way Marquette makes up excuses to not plays us. I am not from here, I have lived in several different regions of the country and no place that I have lived in has ever been so shy about playing in state schools like here in Wisconsin.
Sometimes I feel like I am on a sports island living in this state. It isn't like this even in our neighboring states of Minn, Ill, Indiana & Michigan. Only good and exciting things can happen when teams in state play each other. Rivalries are a good thing, that is what makes sports so great.

First Post!!!!!
Ok...First off the chances of a gaming happening between MU and UWM is zero. Ok...its higher than zero but let just say its considerably closer to nil than one.
However, to say that UWM wouldn't gain anything is ridiculous. UWM needs fan support and one easy way to do that is through media attention. Besides UW-Madison, Marquette gets all the attention in the media (this year and only this year being the acception). If UWM plays MU that means the media will be forced to cover UWM and thus the potential for the fan base to increase. (Yes, I know media coverage has increased due to the sweet sixeteen run but it needs to be increased more)
Another simple reason for playing MU is money. No matter where its played, Bradley Center or the Cell it's going to be sold out, which will once again draw more attention and more importantly the all mighty dollar to both programs.
Once agian, I don't think we will play MU anytime soon but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be good for UWM. Plus, I just want to stick it all those MU fans that have been bugging me all my life.

Well, for better or for worse, the odds apparently just got a whole lot better. In an interview today at the Big East pep rally, Tom Crean told Channel 4 (I'm sure it will be re-broadcast at 10) that "we'd look into playing the other in-state schools if we can get something like Wisconsin has, a 4-for-1 or a 4-for-2." If I were Bud, I'd say yes to the 2-for-1 and a resounding no to the 4-for-1. The program has evolved well beyond the point where we need to play a 4-for-1 against anybody. That includes Madison after this current deal expires.
