I am an Illini fan from Chicago who hopes to be in attendance of the games this week. After seeing teh great turnout in Indy, I'm sure there will be much orange in the small building for our matchup vs. UWM. I just wanted to get a feel for how many UWM fans may be showing up.

I would expect as many as can get tickets. I know the demand has been huge so far today.
I don't know what the allotment per school is. Any help?

UWM will be non existant in the arena... Its been well publicized that Ill fans have been gobbling up tickets since they have been available..
Illinois will definitely have a large home court advantage.. It cracks me up that some people on here actually think that there will be a large contingent of UWM fans.

There will be a large amount of UWM fans. Obviously there WILL be more Illini fans but our fans are LOUD. And anyone who is not a fan of IL will be cheering along with us. Our players will hear us.

You're right, Panther Princess. No one but Chicagoans want to see the Illini win this game.

As evidenced in earlier threads, some DePaul fans in attendance will be rooting for UWM as well.
Don't get me wrong ... it will still be a pro-Illini majority.

I hope for some good travel by OK St. and AZ, because all of their fans in attendance for the UWM vs Ill. game will be rooting us on as well. David vs Goliath

It cracks me up that some people on here actually think that there will be a large contingent of UWM fans. It cracks me up that some people that come on here actually think that there won't be a large contingent of UWM fans. There will be more Illini fans for sure but any fan that doesn't claim Ill or UWM will root for UWM as the underdog. It would also be foolish to think that a large contingent of UWM Alumni do not live in the chicago area (when they do). Troll say what?

will there be alot of orange? yes will UWM represent in the stands? yes will Oklahoma State and Arizona be there? yes will they root for UWM? yes will this be the most intense environment UWM has ever faced in school history? I'd say so
I can't wait until thurs. regardless of the outcome, I will cherish it as one of the most amazing things I'll ever get a chance to be a part of (besides all the life things, like marraige, birth, and that stuff).

being number one sure does get you hated...
but dont you think its strange that ok state and az will be cheering for uwm? not that its gonna happen, but lets say by some fluke that uwm wins (no offense but come on i'm an illini fan) why would they all want to play uwm? that means they're playing a team that knocks higher seeds off...i just find it funny that ok state and az fans will be cheering for anyone since they will lose to the winner of our game in the next round
now i know what it feels like to be from duke

we dont hate your <a href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=11&k=basketball%20team" onmouseover="window.status='basketball team'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">basketball team</a> its just that the majority of ILL posters make themself a target by bringing up ridiculous stuff that happened when they were 9. It makes them suspetible to being a dick.
Example 1.
being number one sure does get you hated...
Example 2.
It cracks me up that some people on here actually think that there will be a large contingent of UWM fans. keep looking at other threads. YOu guys have a great team, but your fans would rather talk about everything but basketball.
