SI is just plan nuts.
Alabama may have had a soft schedule by SEC standards but UWM had a soft schedule by any standard.
Now I know at the begining of the year I thought it would be tough to win at Purdue etc. but lets face it we caught everyone in a down year.
This will be UWM's third game against a opponent in the top 100. Read that agian. Over 20 games play, they are in the NCAA tournament and only the third game against a top 100.
UWM still has something to prove.

ALL i know is taht we diserve to be getting the props and respect that we are recieving..... you pick your brakets however you want...sounds like you dont even like uwm.. i have us going to the sweet 16. It will be tough but very possible! GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ps lose the negativity

There was nothing negative about that post ... it is his opinion, and that what a discussion board is about.

Hack,
Good post on defending this guy/girl. I have been ridiculed many times for being a "realist" I thought discussions were the point of discussion boards? not just everyone agreeing all the time

bball30,
Good post commending Hack good post bball30.
Anyways, Bama is scary. They are bigger, stronger, taller, and more experienced. but there is a difference between being a realist and a media controlist. i mean that in the best possible way.
By examing js48737 post and your opinons im getting the feeling that you think UWM is 1. lucky 2. is not good enough to be in si or 3. si is nuts for calling us a cinderella. mhmhmhmhmhmm if si is crazey for doing this, hand me my straight jacket! everybody in the ncaa tournament has their chance to greatness and causing a few fire works. Now in this case, SI has given UWM its due attention. if you look Cinderella up in the in the sports dictionary you will see that it states: Cinderella: 1. relativly unknown team who has potential to beat goaliaf like teams. 2. receaives many rewards for their pure heart for the game. 3. a girl who can walk in glass heels.
moving on my friend. now i will defend the fact that UWM is not a bad pick to beat Bama. Or teams after that. First Bama Bama's weak perimeter defence and their inability to play as many players as UWM is UWM's paved road to beating Bama. Now if you want to be a realist bball30. You would say that even with having said that, More players will have to step up in this game. For example, even though Ed McCants had a 26 point game against KU another 26 point game will not help UWM beat Bama. In fact, Tigert, and Boo will have to lend a hand in the perimeter and step up while Joah has to create foul trouble for the Bama posts while dominating the boards with James Wright and D Ford. and ford has to get his hands together for the first time this season. Thats being a realist. See a realist isnt someone who just comes in and says, "Bama is really really good and UWM has not won a top 100 game all year" A realist is someone who looks at the game and shows how a team has to adapt. Your sense of being a realist mirrors on the facts already stated by others.
Post Bama, well wait and see whos our next oponnent and then be a realist, and find a solution to have UWM can beat the next group of players.
A realist explains what has to happen for our team to win. A realist explains the solution. Not the hill were faced with.
I have been ridiculed many times for being a "realist" I thought discussions were the point of discussion boards? not just everyone agreeing all the time
So let me get this straight. People have been disagreeing with you. Disagreeing with your opinons. Sir i believe you have been entering disucssions with out even knowing it. If you have been ridiculed i formally apologize. But, remeber, if you feel you are being ridiculed others might just feel they are dicussing with you with. The key priority of your post. So dont take it so personall. And it kinda looks funny, when you a. agree with Hackpanther and then B. say boards arent just here for people to agree on one topic.

I don't take things personal at all, that is not the type of person I am. Sometimes things get blown out of proportion on here, and to see someone stand up for someone else was very nice. So I commented on it. I am not saying that people can't ever agree. However, I do recall times when i was ripped apart for typing errors. if you don't agree with everything on here, certain people are quick to say that you aren't a true fan. I have been here for 4 years now, and remember games where you couldn't pay other students to go.
Sorry for being on a soap box, ill continue this further later, feel free to comment though

if people harp on you for spelling tell them you blame microsoft word for putting that funny little red zigzag line underneath a miss spelt word. for years we have all grown to enjoy that little red zig zag line. even when we could spell a word, we would fake it. only to have the little red zig zag line give us possible corrections. dam microsoft. taking over the world and our spelling!
but seriously. for someone who has come here for 4 years. acert yourself. be confident.
and dont forget what it means to be a realist.

So maybe realist isn't the right choice of words... perhaps devils advocate? All I am saying, is that there are a select few on this board who if you don't totally agree with them "you are an idiot" or "not even a true panther fan" I was simply making an innocent comment on someone else on the board standing up for someone who was in position to get shot right down for making what is a very innocent comment. It seems like any time someone posts an opposing point of view, they are automatically an idiot. There is no need for that, that is what discussions are built out of.
I don't need to assert my self and be confidence, as I have shown no instance where confidence was lacking. I think we all just want a panther win or two in the tournament, and this is going to be tough against a good alabama team. Winston, Shelton, and Davis all average double figures, and prove to be some very athletic bodies. This may cause some matchup problems for the panthers as we lack size with the three guard line-up. Ford hasn't shown sh*t all year, he needs to with the 5 minutes he is going to get on thrusday. Joah's matchup will be a wash, as I feel both players will equal eachothers performance. AT and Chris need to knock down their open three's and Ed also needs to hit. The press has to come out smoking from the start, because this team isn't gonna wanna fall behind early to a very athletic Bama team.
Let me know what you think, ill be happy to elaborate more

I know that. In no way was i trying to put you down. In no way was trying to make your comment uninnocent/bad. So im glad we could clear that up. You should just come to the realization, when you want a discussion with devils advocate positions you will get unwated comments. and its our job to rise above them and move on. In fact if you look above i commented you post as you did. It seems like any time someone posts an opposing point of view, they are automatically an idiot. There is no need for that, that is what discussions are built out of. I feel your pain my brother. However, once again that will happen in an open system. I suggest to everyone that when they post they use as much subjective data to base their opinons. Which requires more than one or two sentences. Now we dont all have the time to do that but try to use something concrete. Not that im saying you didnt use anything of the sort. I don't need to assert my self and be confidence, as I have shown no instance where confidence was lacking. i said that so you wouldnt have to spend time defending post as you did before. I think we all just want a panther win or two in the tournament, and this is going to be tough against a good alabama team.
