Watching the game today (there was no Minnesota women's hockey game today so the game wasn't pre-empted) I had a feeling of deja vu. Seth Doliboa of Wright State reminds me of Chad Angeli in his senior year. Chad is a great guy, hard worker, terrific player, overcame incredible odds, probably the classiest person I ran across in covering the Panthers games for 4 years. I just wished he would have developed a mean streak, demanded the ball, and carried the team on his back when they needed it. But that wasn't in Chad's makeup. Wright State could have stolen one fom the Panthers today. Fortunately for us, Doliboa wasn't willing to be the guy to take it upon himself to make it happen.

I agree on your analysis of Seth. I watched him last year and he really impressed me. Again, this year it was obvious that he had a lot of skills and was fairly athletic, but he just doesn't seem to have that "killer instinct". I am not taking anything away for him, and maybe UWM had something to do with it, but it just seems like he doesn't step up and play big against us in big games.....

I don't know what the difference is for Seth this year, but you're right. His game seems quite a bit different than in the past. Coach Biancardi has talked quite a bit about how Seth and Vernard have really had to make some big adjustments to buy into his system. I can't say that is necessarily the reason, but it may be a factor. I haven't looked at the overall stats from last year and this year, but it seems like Seth is taking a lot more shots to reach the same point level as last year. In fact, he seems to really be focusing away from the 3-point shot, which was a big part of his game in the past. I'm not knocking him for his play this year, but it's been tough to watch him try to adjust to a new role this year. Fortunately, winning games really helps! Shall we plan on meeting in the tourney finals? I know the WSU folks would love to see another match-up, especially if it's as good as the game on Saturday. I don't think you could beat us a 3rd time this season.
