All I gotta say is that all of this bickering from fans about "having no class" etc. is just a sign that we finally do mean something to this conference and the we are, essentially, the team that everyone wants to beat. We, both fans and players alike, have to get used to having targets continuously placed on our backs and realize that these are just signs of a strong healthy program on the rise!
Aside from that, the game was in our hands until banks went off...I believe it was 60-50 in our favor with about 9 minutes left in the game when his threes started going down like the titanic.

I would agree with everyone else that was at the game last night. Sure, we did say things that were'nt appropratie for a "family atmosphere" but thats what happens in a rivalry. The same happened to us as we were leaving the building yesterday, we coulda used a little help with security on the way out.
We aren't even close to what goes on between North Carolina vs. Duke or Michigan vs. Ohio St. in football.
Bring on UIC in the Tourny!

I think kaygee made a pretty good assessment of the game. Although it hurts now, it isn't THAT big of a deal. We need to regroup and get ready for Saturday - a game that is MUCH more important. Like kaygee, I think that the loss can be used as a wakeup call. It was unlikely that we would go undefeated in conference anyways and this is arguably the hardest test - and not playing well and losing by 4 bodes well for us. In a way, I would be scared if we breezed through conference play - because a loss would follow at some point, and we all know that a loss in the HL tournament is NOT GOOD! Lets get show the team some support on Sat. (for a televised game)! We need to get the students back, just like against GB.

I agree, because now essentially all that needs to be done is to win the conf tourney. I think that last night's loss can be compared to the heartbreaking one at Butler (essentially, talent-wise, UIC is our biggest opponent this year), which in my opinion, helped us regroup and catapulted us through the tourney. I hope that the same happens this year. In the end, it's just the thoughts of "what-ifs" that really hurt after the loss.

kaygee and pthr0 are right. UIC is doen and over with, time to move on ot the next game.
saturday is just as big of game as we have played so far this year. wright state is going to put up a fight and it will be a good game to watch. we need as many students there as possible which is true but we need the groups of alumni to come out again just as they did aganist GB. that will really be a big help to us as well.
so on to wright state

I agree...we lost but the truth is UIC is 7-4 in conference and we're 10-1. The game didn't hurt that bad. We are still in the best position to do the most damage considering that 3 of our last 5 conference games are at home. UIC fans can whine all they want about class and us being overrated but plain and simple if we play like we can, we should be at the top of the conference this year in the end and that won't hurt compared to one stupid loss.

if we would have went undefeated we would have had huge heads. Now we're back on earth andd the team know what it needs to do. I remember when bob knight had awesome teams he would intentionally lose the last game going into the tourney. We'll take care of business down the home stretch. It really wasnt a big deal.

Yeah, i agree tupacrates, but Indiana is a major and they could afford to do that, us on the other hand...well, were stuck in mid major land for now.
