That is a terrible time. Why not 4pm?
ughh.
Still a good matchup for us, I would think. Definitely a chance to give us some at-large consideration with a win.

I'm actually jealous of Southern Illinois. The Salukis host Hawaii at 11 p.m.!! on ESPN.
Now that would be a fun atmosphere to be in.

ESPN.com had a chat with Manhattan coach Bobby Gonzalas today. UWM came up, I wish he'd of said more about the game. Billy C(New York): Bobby, what are your feelings about your bracket buster match-up with UW-Milwaukee? As a Jasper alum, I am excited about the game and am very happy to get a TV matchup. We are going to make the trip to show our support, keep up the good work. Bobby Gonzalez: (5:59 PM ET ) It's a great matchup because they play a similar style to us. We were both in the NCAA Tournament last season, so I think it will be an exciting game to watch. proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=4710

This was the worst possible draw, matching up with a team who plays the same style and has better athletes imo. Manhattan was the only team I truly did not want to play, this one has upset written all over it.

I wouldn't be so sure this is a bad draw. Talking to one of the coaches, this is who they expected and hoped to play. I think we will match up well...
Then again, let's hope they dont have more 3pt shooters. Has any one viewed Manhattan before?

I saw them once last year during the tourney or just a normal game not sure but they run the court extremely well. I agree its not a great matchup for us. We win games by dictating the tempo in our favor and throwing the other team off balance. They definately won't be off balance. I think Creighton's shooters would have been worse but this isn't good by any means. On the other hand screw the matchup, Bring it on Manhattan. Theres no need to be afraid of anyone. We're UWM.

I wouldn't say that this is the worst possible draw. They have the closest RPI to us and the best team to help us get at-large consideration for the Tourney. Also, this team has only played 6 away games all year. Right now our "best win" has a lower RPI than our "worst loss", which isn't very helpful for our at-large chances, so I think we want a team like Manhattan that is on the bubble level just like we are.

Forget rpi, Im looking at how manhattan actually matches up when it come to winning and losing.

I don't get it...so you wanted the worst possible team we could've gotten? I think I would rather play a team on our level and have a good chance against at home, then a team like a UL-Lafayette who we could beat but wouldn't help our SOS or at-large consideration. The fact that they play our style of basketball is just a challenge that can only help us come March and provide for a great college basketball game. That's the reason they're trying this Bracket Buster...to see who's for real and who's not, the lower teams in the Bracket Buster would not prove anything accept that we can beat fair teams at home like we're supposed to.

I would much rather run the table than take a loss heading into the Conference Tourney. Because a loss to Manhattan and a loss at any point in the conf tourney will send us to the NIT. Also, beating Manhattan won't do much for our RPI anyways.

I guess I just don't understand why you think we'll lose. We're at home and we shoot high percentage. We have Page and they have no big men that I've heard of, and even if it doesn't jump our RPI big time, it will be seen as a quality win in the eyes of the selection commitee. But, to tell you the truth I'm more worried about Thursday right now at UIC and at Butler...let's just get those in first and then we'll worry about the pretty boy Jaspers.

Personally, I feel that the up-tempo game will play into our hands. Anyone on our has the ability to step up and put up dub digis in points on any given night. Based on this fact alone, and our 3-headed monster compared to their only scoring threat in Luis Flores, I think that we have a definate advantage. This type of play will also get the crowd involved who always want to see an excting game. Finally, I think teams which focus on control of time and tempo and that heavily rely on defense are a bigger threat to us than say up tempo and high scoring Manhattan. Look up our losses to defensive minded teams like Air Force and Wisconsin as examples.
