Whimmer starts at PG and he was a better player at Dominican than Ray "Overrated" Nixon was at Dominican. Hill coming off the bench will be a good change of pace as long as he passes first and shoots second.
I am a badger fan but UW should of got Whimmer and not Nixon because he really hasnt found a true position. Nixon will be riding the bench with the talent UW has coming back. Ray maybe u should transfer to UWGB ha

Ray maybe u should transfer to UWGB ha Wimmer will not start that the PG spot. I envision Bruce signing a HS point guard (either Fletcher or Hanson from Tosa). That leaves Wimmer at his natural spot and he can maybe fill in at the point for 4-5 minutes a game. It would be really dangerous to have him and Ed on the floor at the same time.

Hanson has signed with Akron. I understand that. It doesnt mean he will end up at Akron.

So you want him to petition the NCAA so he can get out of his letter or hope Akron is gracious enough to let him go? Keep dreaming.

As you've said, Al Hanson has signed with Akron. In all likelihood, that's where he'll end up. But, Akron has fired its coach - and replaced him with the head assistant. Sometimes when this happens, if a player requests to be released from his letter of intent, the school will grant it (see Charlie Villanueva). Don't plan on it happening, but it is at least a possibility.

Secondly, he was in the UWM locker room following the Rice game. Thirdly, the kid has said he wants out of his LOI. I'm no genius, but I can put the three things together

Beano,
Obviously you may know more than most of us. Don't get me wrong, it'd be great if Al decided to go to UWM - he'd be a perfect fit. But, I don't think we should get ahead of ourselves - he's signed with Akron. Until he does something to the contrary, all assumptions need to be that he's going to end up there.

To let you know Charlie Villanueva never signed, he only verballed. Also if Hanson was in the locker room after the game, wouldnt that be tampering with another schools recruit? But I guess Pearl is used to that so nothing new.

I totally agree with you. I dont THINK it will happen, but it certainly can. I still think Fletcher is UWM's first option.

"I still think Fletcher is UWM's first option."
Does any one know how we stand in Fletcher's plans? I know we are in his final 3 picks, but I thought UWGB was his first pick. I have no idea why he would want to go to UWGB, but maybe he just wants to leave the city.
Later, UWMfreak

Later, UWMfreak I figured this might happen, but after his strong showing at the State Tournament he is wavering some. He seems to think a BCS school might come calling. I doubt it, but it could happen.

Hanson in the locker room is no way tampering if a player invited him in, just any guest is welcome in a locker room if invited and approved.

Original URL: www.jsonline.com/sports/prep/mar04/216650.asp From Journal Sentinel AP story: "Fletcher hasn't decided where he will attend college next year, but said he has offers from Baylor, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay. He expects to make a decision in a week or two."

Ok back on topic, I do think our back court will be Wimmer and McCants next year unless Fletcher comes here. I would think that McCants would work on his handles if he wants any chance to play at the next level. What are the chances that McCants brings up the ball next year ala Devin Harris. What do you guys think? To me, I don't care who plays the point as long as both play a lot of minutes together. I can't wait, what guy are teams going to be focused on. Here's to both guys hitting a combined 175 3's next year.
On a side note I hope Iowa State kicks the you know what out of Marquette and their prick coach.
