My consolation tonight is GB losing to SIU Edwardsville. I hope they lose every game going forward.

Let's play that second half twice, shall we?

How does Bart Lundy show this team the value and worth of playing for each other, aka team basketball?

And I remember when the team was saying before the season that "everyone is afraid to play us." Are we sure that was the quote? Because it feels like it should have been "everyone is afraid to watch us."

Erik Pratt was 5 of 9 on 3s (5 of 12 overall) for 17 points, which led the team. He might even have been of some help in a 12-point road loss at Green Bay on Saturday but was evidently in Lundy's doghouse. Why that was we'll never know even though we're the only four dozen or so people who are truly invested in this program. Sad.

How does Bart Lundy show this team the value and worth of playing for each other, aka team basketball? He makes enough money he needs to figure that out.

Well, my bet almost worked. St. Thomas didn't cover.
My other bet did work, however, because Green Bay lost to SIUE.
That $10 was better wasted at the sportsbook than on stupid Summit League Network!

Lost in all of this, Pratt with the backdoor cover 3 pointer to close the game.

I still think this team is close. Still figuring out the rotation, a problem most didn’t think we would have.
Pullian may need a sport’s psychiatrist. He has the talent. In fact, could the whole team have a 1 on 1 with a shrink prior to every tip-off? These slow starts have to be between the ears right ? It’s been almost every game. SO Ms is the only one that comes to mind where we started out playing well.

I’d like to say I feel a lot better after the 2nd half tonight, but we’ve seen this before against Green Bay.
And Southern Miss.
And Siena.
And Providence.

One of the marks of a bad team: a different player steps up every night ... and the rest of the players step down.

Fascinating comments by Bart Lundy in the radio postgame show. He provided more candor in his five minute stint than I've heard from a Panther coach in a long, long time. It is must-listen audio for everyone on this board to hear. For those who missed it, it will hopefully be available by morning.

Lundy was late to the post-game radio. Very interesting comments. Hope to find the link.

SO Ms is the only one that comes to mind where we started out playing well. Disagree. Don't think the roster is actually talented. Everyone on this board this offseason was just excited because of the strong season last year thinking that all these new additions were big time gets talents wise but when you look closer there's nothing to indicate that. Almost all of the new guys either come from a lower level of play whether it's JUCO (which is much weaker in this era of hoops where qualifying for div 1 grades wise is EZPZ compared to 20 years ago) or prep school. Not much talent to be had there. All the guys who come from other D-1 programs were guys who literally couldn't even get on the court period, or weren't any good/productive in very limited minutes. Those type of retreads don't work out for a reason, they just flat out aren't very good. After the GB game people were wondering why can't we get a transfer who impacts the game like Reynolds did. Well look at his first 2 years in college, he actually played and was very productive.
As for KP, he is literally a small guard, with mediocre athleticism, who doesn't have strong enough handles to play PG/lead guard, doesn't have playmaking ability, and isn't really good on defense either against small guards who out quick him or bigger guards who he doesn't have the size to matchup with. He basically even last year was strictly valuable because he was a good 3pt shooter (which is a very very valuable trait). However it's more likely than not that his efficiency in that regard was merely variance and he's not actually a near 40% 3pt shooter. He's likely not as bad as he's shooting now, but he's probably more realistically closer to a 32-33% 3pt shooter which just isn't really anything to write home about when that is specifically all you really bring to the table.
No moral victories in "making this game close" towards the end. It wasn't. We got demolished and then made a few shots when they were letting off the gas. But every time they refocused they snatched control right back.
