This will probably be the best the Horizon League has been since the mid to late 2000s. I think you could make a case that any of the top 5 teams on that list could win the conference. I can't wait. Honestly, if we can just get back to 2019 conference strength, that would be a great start. I'm not sure we'll ever see this conference as strong as it was in 2014, much less 2011 and prior. You can't lose Butler, Valpo, Loyola and UIC, replace them with Oakland, Northern Kentucky and three anchors without slipping significantly in quality and reputation. While I don't want to hijack the thread, I can't help but mention how frustrating it is that IUPUI and Fort Wayne specifically were ever given conference membership. The moves were widely panned by fans of our conference members. It was clear that these decisions were a combination of misplaced priorities (getting back into Indy) and throwing sh*t at the wall to see what sticks. While I was once in favor of 22 league games because of scheduling challenges, how helpful is it to play extra games against teams with a NET over 300? Yuck. All that said, I love the competitiveness at the top of the league this year. If the HL is ever going to be a respectable conference again, it will likely be on the shoulders of Oakland, Cleveland St, Northern Kentucky, Wright St and/or Milwaukee.

It's difficult if not impossible to replicate the boost that Butler provided this league, and don't sleep on YSU in the payola/rent-a-player era. I believe they'll continue to be formidable.

This kind of stuff has never been as meaningless as it is now, given the high turnover because of the transfer portal. They play the games on the court.

I'm trying to figure out how/why Langston Wilson isnt considered one of our top 10 contributors.

The silliness I talked about in the Soccer thread regarding the Horizon League trying to improve its image is part of this recharge.

I'm trying to figure out how/why Langston Wilson isnt considered one of our top 10 contributors. I mean aside from the obvious main guys, I don't think anyone can be sure who is going to be in our full rotation, probably not even Bart Lundy at this point. Fields has never played significant minutes of any kind so far in college so it's hard to project him walking in and being a guaranteed major contributor. Maybe he plays 10-15 mins/game, maybe he doesn't play at all, it's really impossible to know at this point.

So, Wilson & Fields will be starters? Not sure on that.

Probably the 3 returning guards with BJ playing the 4 and Langston at 5.
2nd unit is going to be damn good too it seems.

PG: Jamison SG: Browning SF: Freeman PF: Franklin C: Wilson I really like KP off the bench. Consistent scoring on the second unit will be key. Pratt is also going to be a guy who could end up being the 6th man imo.
