Fellas, the fact remains that Florida Atlantic, Gonzaga and San Diego State are among a class of likeable programs and silver-spoon high-majors like UConn and K-State are not. Go, Aztecs and Owls!!!

I am sure most of you know this, but for those that do not... Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, Rice, UAB and UTSA all officially join the AAC on July 1. So the CUSA success this postseason will benefit the conference financially, but not from a future reputation standpoint. FAU even though they have rarely experienced success on court in their 30ish year history until the last few seasons, continually strives to improve their programs position by jumping to bigger conferences. This is something our program should be paying close attention to. FAU only joined D1 in the mid 90s, played low major A-SUN conf til the early 2000s, then joined the mid major Sun Belt (which has improved majorly since they initially joined, but was pretty crap then), then just a few years later jumped to C-USA, and now jumping again to a stronger conference.
Meanwhile, our program prior to this season had success that FAU could only dream of, but never tried to capitalize on it and instead decided to fall to the dregs of a failing Horizon League. The sooner we can get out of the dead end Horizon the better it is for the program.

Uconn absolutely crushed Gonzaga. i thin they led by 32 at one point.

"Our program prior to this season had success that FAU could only dream of."
Truer words have never been uttered on this board. We've just allowed ourselves to get left behind again and again.

Woo-hoo!!!!! What a shame that the Aztecs and Owls have to play each other in the Final 4! Guarantees one of them playing for a championship at least!

Disappointing way to end the game. Refs let a rock fight happen all half. Tie game we call a foul with a second left is disappointing.
That said, MWC fan. Tournament success was zero the past few years. I enjoy the leagues cover on FS1 and CBSSN. Congrats to SDST.

There seems to be a consistent theme to this tournament. Regardless of conference affiliation, strength of schedule etc. etc. winning teams have continued to win.
Also, winners like Charleston and Alabama have run into the buzzsaw which is the SDST defense. SDST is bringing defense back to college basketball, especially perimeter defense. I don’t think they have the most skilled team offensively, and they are my favorites to win it all at this point.

Miami rallies from 13 down to knock out Texas. 17 years to the day Larranaga guided George Mason to the final 4, he does the same thing with Miami. 3 of the 4 teams left are going to their first ever final 4.

Honestly, what that tells me is that Drake and the College of Charleston could have been Final Four teams.

Honestly, what that tells me is that Drake and the College of Charleston could have been Final Four teams. I haven't been as invested in this year's tournament, which is unusual. In other years I would have watched every possible minute of the elite eight games, and would have been delighted to see so many teams making their first trips to the Final Four. Not entirely sure why that is, although it may be due in part to lingering disappointment that the Panthers missed out on playing in the tournament.

Not to be harsh, but the Panthers have no one to blame but themselves for that loss to Cleveland State. I didn't see any of the "March edge" that a team needs to have in order to advance. It was such a stark contrast to what we saw four days earlier that it was frankly stunning (though I guess it shouldn't have been). In a word, inconsistency from one game to the next was a hallmark of our Panthers.

Honestly, what that tells me is that Drake and the College of Charleston could have been Final Four teams. Memphis and 30 other schools are thinking that.
