Kampe to Milwaukee! Just think, by 2024 the HLT could be at the Arena! The flaw in this plan is that he would be hard-pressed to win one tourney game per year.

I see Jeter made the Basketball Classic field too. Playing UTEP in the first round.

I see Jeter made the Basketball Classic field too. Playing UTEP in the first round. That game has been postponed for some reason.

Reported travel problems for WIU. Apparently the stagecoach is still at a repair shop in McComb.

That program is almost dirt poor. There are practically no advantages there. Twelve winning seasons in their history!

Maryland-Eastern Shore is in the field and their NET ranking checks in at 302!!! I’d love to hear anyone defend this fraud of a tournament.

It allows schools and teams and players that otherwise would be done with the season to keep playing a little bit. In many cases for the players, for the last time in college. If the colleges want to play and the players want to play and there are some sponsors, what’s the harm? Look at all the bad low-major “tournaments” early in the season. How is this any different or worse?
And who is it “defrauding?” It’s not like the winners are going to try to sneak their way into the Superdome and demand to play Baylor or Gonzaga.
Like any other sporting event, if you don’t care, don’t watch.

I suspect that from a player or coach's perspective, it's a chance to compete and get better.

I guess it's more noticeable when your team is so bad you lose at home to a SWAC team. Florida can relate. Lol

I'm cheering very hard today for Wright State obviously because of our shared conference affiliation with the Raiders but also because of my friendship with Dick Nagy, Scott's father, who passed away early last Fall. We never got to go on the recruiting trip that we talked about, but I often imagine how wonderful it would have been to sit and soak up his knowledge. Ultimately, sports and life are all about the relationships that you make and ours, although short-lived, was quite special. Go, Raiders!

He was the Ron Santo of UIC basketball at the time - very much a homer who was passionate about the Flames. Much like Santo on Cubs' radio, Dick Nagy's broadcasts were very entertaining. Nice to see Wright State win it's First Four game today. As I've said all along, it is better to have a chance to win a 16 vs 16 game than be a one and done 15 or 16 seed. The Raiders got/are getting a lot of good publicity today.
