Packers are getting smoked by San Francisco. 20-0 49ers likely to be 27-0

Packers lose 37-20 in a game that wasn't as close as the score indicated

I hope that Brian Gutekunst takes a realistic approach to his evaluation of how to improve the 2020 Packers.
I don't think major changes are needed, but i am completely fed up with the post-season analysis that celebrates the season without facing the simple fact that the 49ers made the Packers look pathetic not once, but twice, in games that seriously impacted the season.

There's a lot to celebrate about the season, in my opinion. Winning the division and going 13-3 was well beyond the expectations of most Packers fans, I personally had them going 9-7. But it was clear that they were not an elite offensive team, they won a bunch of games by narrow margins and against a more complete team, got smoked not once but twice

I was poking around on nfl.com, which i don't normally do.
There was an article by one of their analytics writers on the ten most under-performing units in the league. What i found interesting is that none of the units were part of the Packers.
The GB run defense, for instance, was inconsistent, but apparently not so inconsistent as to be one regarded as one of the most under-performing units of the entire league season.
I might have suspected that the Packers' passing offense might have made this list as well. With the exception of one game where Rodgers threw five TD passes, the Packer passing game's performance was mixed. Coach LaFleur talked from day one about running the football, but nearly every new coach says that. He apparently meant it. And Rodgers was effective throwing the ball, but he took his lumps. He also threw a lot more passes away. Again, the writer did not include the Pack's passing game in her list of the biggest underperformers.

There are several months to assess where the Packers must improve in order to compete at the highest level (in other words, catch the 49ers). By the end of the game (hell, by the middle of the opening quarter), the answer was obvious: shore up the run defense. Help is needed at all levels, especially on the defensive front. Flatly, the Packers are just too slow and not really tough enough, other than Kenny Clark. The Smiths can't do it all.
