Love the enthusiasm! Let’s get our friends to as many games as possible. I do think the team has talent and athleticism. They may even upset the likes of a Kansas. You never know. Baldwin and Staff know what it takes to compete. Let us stay positive. Have fun my friends.

I’m not sure what to expect from Harrison Henderson, but I’m guessing he’ll start at the beginning of the year since I do think coach Baldwin does like to start the season with some experience in the starting lineup, and Henderson has experience at the NCAA level (albeit limited) and with the Panthers. He didn’t have a great night at the scrimmage, as he had a hard time finishing when getting the ball down by the basket and he did not look good from the line, but it’s a mistake to take too much from a short scrimmage; if the scrimmage was a great indicator of how the team would perform last year, Elijah Goodman would have been first team all Horizon League last year.
The lineup will figure itself out as the season goes on. Darius Roy started the year as a bench player last year and he ended up being one of the best (if not the best) player on the team last year.

One of those guys you mentioned duct tape won’t be starting unless Lucas not playing tomorrow because of his hand but we will see.

I will say this, I don't want to see Abram's and Sessoms chucking up three point shots. They shoot the Panthers out of games. Abrams needs to take it to the basket. He is a great foul shooter. Sessoms is a junk yard dog type player. That is when he is at his best and can help the Panthers. I am fully on board with this. The team seemed to do best last year when they were feeding Amir Allen down low and when DeAndre Abram was attacking the basket. With our improved depth this year, I’d have to think guys like Wil Sessoms and Bobby Arthur-Williams, who started multiple games last year and didn’t really put up the numbers, can help out more in a workhorse role. I think Bobby Arthur-Williams, in particular, could be a really nice spark plug off the bench. If you don't have adequate outside shooting, the paint is going to get packed with defenders. Allen and Abram won't be able to adequately utilize the paint if they're facing double-teams constantly.

Three's that are not in the flow of the offense. Three's were the players shoulders and footwork in not in the proper shooting form.

Jimmy brought up some very valid questions about this season. I too am concerned on how we're going to fare from outside. Roy not having to play the point anywhere near as much should hopefully open up his game much more. He almost plays better when he's angry/frustrated so hopefully he can channel that in a new way this year. While the hype/hope with Lucas is understandable, the lack of offseason appreciation for Roy is shameful. He did so much for this team last year while not playing in his preferred position and he has the chance to improve even more this year. Other than the talk of him being paired with Lucas, he's been a complete after thought. Hopefully Abram's consistency won't be as big of an issue this year because he could be a REAL liability last year.
The front court is essentially a guessing game, including the progression of Amir Allen. I don't think the comparison of HH to Mitchell Carter is fair as Carter was essentially "coming home" for his senior year. I'd be surprised if HH is content with having a similar situation given his lack of connections to the area. As always, time will tell. If this team is the kind of team PB envisioned when he arrived and we having great FT shooters who do not attack the rim, I'm going to be irate.
As far as my expectations for this season - finishing in the top half of the league for sure and playing two games in the tournament.

I'm always confused by these threads. Are we to post what we think will happen? Or what should happen?

Milwaukee should be a top 3 program in this pathetically weak Horizon year in and year out. They should dismantle lesser conference competition both at home and on the road. Make it to the tournament at least 1 time every 5 years. If they were in the MVC or another conference that would be a different story.
As for what will happen who knows.

As I stated in the recent Wisconsin game thread:
"Bring on the HL conference games. After the first two at NKU and WSU, the Panthers will have the easiest conference slate. I think they will do well in conference overall, even with their inferior bigs."
I was critical of many critical comments by posters on here about PBS his first two years. As I've previously stated, he came into difficult circumstances that needed two years to dig out of because of his late hiring and transfers of prior coaches' recruits. Now that he is in his third year and has his all of own recruits, he should be expected to produce successful results. The conference season will determine whether he will, and whether much of any forthcoming criticism will be warranted.
I am excited for conference play!

Well said. I had the record 7-5 with wins over Western Michigan & Eastern Illinois.

I actually had us at 8-4, with another win in the Bahamas. Ready or not, bring on the conference season!
