Milwaukee 9-19 (4-11) @ UIC 14-14 (8-7)
When: Sunday Time: 3:12PM Where: Credit Union 1 Arena
Streaming: ESPN+ Radio: WISN 1130AM
Last game out for UIC, the Flames raced to a 19 point halftime lead and seemed poised to exact revenge for their loss in Green Bay earlier this season, as well as break a tie with the Phoenix for third place in the Horizon League standings. The second half was a different story. Green Bay (15-13, 9-6 HL) took advantage of 13 Flames turnovers and escaped with a 63-62 win.

We will see how well the coaching staff can motivate the team with nothing more to play for than pride.

Since he couldn't motivate them WITH something to play for, I'm not expecting much today, but beating UIC is always fun.

Well on the plus side, at least I can cancel my ESPN+ subscription now and save myself $5/month.

No rant today. I just feel awful for the kids and their parents! The field report was that they played very hard!

Panthers come back to take a 3 point lead after trailing by 17 point. UIC goes on a 18-0 run. Glad I don't pay for ESPN+. Just followed stat track on my phone.

This current team has an 8 man rotation (for the most part) with 4 players having Division I playing time before this year and I think it's clear they ran out of gas, and they started sputtering in the middle of the conference season. It would have been nice to at least have a chance in the Horizon League tournament this year, but it is always going to be hard to have a good year with such a short bench with a team that lost its (at least) 4 best players and 7 rotation players from the year before.
We just have to hope they grow as much as possible over the next two games and end the season on a high note.

Next year. I think we all need something to get excited about and it is possible things could take a big positive turn in 2019-2020. For anyone who is interested I am republishing an old blog* I used to write. I hope to resume it soon. I can't cause my disappointment with the UWM AD leadership to disconnect me from something that has generated so much fun and joy in my life. GO PANTHERS!!!!* mkepanthertracks.blogspot.com

No rant today. I just feel awful for the kids and their parents! The field report was that they played very hard! The kids and their parents will be be alright. They are getting tuition paid for and have skills enabling them to experience sports at a very high level that most of us could only dream about having. It is both groups of fans that I feel sorry for. One group consists of those of us who are extremely frustrated after personally witnessing in the first few years of the century how exciting this program could be. The other group consists of those who came on board later and have not yet experienced what the first one did.

"We got off to a poor start and that was a catalyst for UIC to win tonight," Baldwin said. "Our guys battled back from being down early in the first half and made a huge push in the second half to take the lead. From there, we just couldn't capitalize."
"Give UIC a lot of credit," Baldwin said. "They hit some key 3's to extend their lead. They made the plays that were out there on the floor and unfortunately, we didn't."
