I need a refresher about McCloud. He left a Jeter coached team at midseason, didn't he? Anyone know what the issue was? Honestly, that's the extent of my knowledge as well. There may well be a legitimate reason that he quit the team in the middle of the year. I remember some people saying it had to do with the lack of playing time and others implied that there was more to it than that, and no consensus was reached (on this board, at least). Overall, the Panthers played fairly well and the game was a lot closer than the final score indicates, but I get fed up when long fairly contested jump shots are taken when the shot clock is still in the 20s or at least the upper teens. The Panthers essentially have an eight man rotation right now, and four of them (Sessoms, Abram, Allen, Johnson) are listed at 6'8" while another player (Arthur-Williams) is listed at 6'7". I think the team would be a lot more successful if they used their size to their advantage instead of taking jump shots so much. Of course, there were also a high number of fairly open layups that were missed tonight as well, and that needs to be fixed up as well. Hopefully they can get back on track against Cleveland State and Youngstown State.

I thought our guys were locked in to everything that Green Bay wanted to do in the first half," Baldwin said. "I think we made some really good plays to give us the lead. Second half was a back-and-forth game, there were just some key plays that Green Bay made, and we didn't. Whether it was on the offensive end or the defensive end, and I think that was the difference."

Stat of the game? Green Bay 27 of 33 free throws compared to 10 for 13 for Milwaukee.

Great Comment. The game changed with a missed bunny. I have attended all the games and wonder if Bobby Arthur Williams will relax. Hopefully soon. Vance Johnson is playing at a higher level because he is comfortable. The same is true of Barnes, Wright, and Abrams. Roy is a talented offensive player and naturally ready to play. Now one play does not make a game. In this case I think GB went on a 8-0 run with dunks and threes. The game was fairly even except for that run. It became a free throw contest for GB and they took control. Maybe next year Lucas will take over a game like this the way Cohen did last night. Finally when I saw the crew of officials I felt we were in for a long night. Still the game was winnable. Hats off to GB.

Stat of the game? Green Bay 27 of 33 free throws compared to 10 for 13 for Milwaukee. Not to mention the Panthers were the 7th ranked team nationally in FT percentage going into last night’s game. That makes them settling for jump shots even more frustrating. Drive to the hoop and get to the line 20-30 times every game. That’s how you give yourself the best chance to win. I see no CWN again last night. At least he’s still on the bench suiting up. Gives me a little bit of hope we might see him again. “UWM sophomore wing Carson Warren-Newsome was held out of his fourth straight game despite suiting up and being healthy, and Baldwin said he had no update on his status with the Panthers.”

We played GB’s game and paid for it. Either the players didn’t listen to the coaches or the coaches were okay with that. Either way, the result was inevitable.
P.S. I see the SID staff found about 750 invisible fans for the box score. I assume all those cool foodstands open in the concourse must lure them away from the game.
Next two games are literally 2 of the 3 most winnable conference games all season. To say the least, the team needs to win both.

According to Wayne Larrivee, PBS said the following: "We want to play 7 MPH over the speed limit; they want to play 20 over."
That's a tactical error on our part. Instead, we should have sought to play the game at about 7 UNDER!

Vance Johnson is playing at a higher level because he is comfortable. There were a lot of missed bunnies last night. Most of them were just flat out bad shots, not even unlucky bounces/rolls. There's really no reliable inside threat. Vance shows potential at times but he's not consistent. In terms of players being comfortable, it's different for everyone. Vance didn't look comfortable at all last year and up until the end he often looked like he was thinking too much when he had the ball around the basket. Roy has played well from almost the beginning whereas Sessoms & Allen are also still adjusting/learning. This is why (in part) I thought we'd struggle this year b/c JUCO transfers often take a year to adjust to D1 ball. I was hoping more of them would be clicking by now but it's impossible to tell when or if it'll ever click.
