Coach sounded frustrated in the postgame on WISN as well. Does he have any answers? He likes their fight today. Which I agree, but others need to step up and play better.

"You had two teams that were really desperate for a win, so both teams came out really hard and we were as aggressive as we could be, especially on the defensive end," head coach Pat Baldwin said. "Our guys fought and were aggressive and that's the way we need to be when we are playing."
"Defense is what we need to hang our hat on and we did early in the game and into the second half," Baldwin said. "It was that run, it really capsized us a little bit and we couldn't recover." Coach on Vance... "It's good for him that he broke out like that," Baldwin said. "I am just looking for some consistency with Vance so that we can count on him night-in and night-out."

CWN must be in the doghouse. Abrams was brutal to watch. Allen and Sessoms fought hard, but added not much at all.(1-10 combined) Barnes (19pts), Johnson (19pts) & Roy (20 pts) with a solid day. You need more to step up than that. Going into the season with very few returning players, I thought if Barnes and Johnson would be two of Milwaukee's top three players, that would not be a good thing. Yesterday's result showed why. This team needs production from others. It sure would be nice to know what is really up with CWN. He was instrumental in almost beating North Dakota at home last month.

Does he have any answers? He likes their fight today. Which I agree, but others need to step up and play better. It is time to start using a new catch phrase, Coach Baldwin. A team's "fight" should be assumed in every game. I hate every time he mentions this in his post game comments, even though we know he will say it.

Deandre Abram is really mystifying. Check out his FG percentage in both categories. He takes the second most shots of anyone on the team and cannot seem to hit anything

Does he have any answers? He should ask the AD. She thought she had them all. Do THEY speak with each other? I sat near the AD at the Drake game, just across the aisle and two rows behind. I noticed that through the entire contest, almost no one chatted with or acknowledged her, or vice versa. The exception was a woman sitting directly in front of her who turned around during a timeout in the second half and conversed for a minute or so. Full disclosure - I did not observe her prior to tip off or at halftime, and immediately after the game she quickly went down to the floor level and completely disappeared from my view. It seemed uncomfortably ackward. It reminded me of a lasting image I have of former AD George Koonce at Hinkle Fieldhouse sitting in the back of a section of Panther fans looking at his cell phone rather than acknowledging the Panther faithful. Seems to me that part of an AD's role should include relationship building, even if nothing more than positively acknowledging fans who attend events. I have had my criticisms of Bud Haidet, but he was very good at this.

I witnessed the EXACT same behavior at Cincy as she "walled" herself off from everyone while watching our women's game on her phone. VERY un-AD like. Her current deal expires at the end of June and she's just a cold fish.

Seriously?? This is the best news could have at this point. I thought she was extended but if this is the case no way should she be extended or re-upped. Than again......our hiring decisions have been unbelievably poor. Whoever made the decisions on the AD hires going all the way back to Koonce hopefully will not be allowed anywhere near the process. Unfortunately I have ZERO confidence in our admin making a smart hire as it pertains to the AD position. Hope springs eternal though . How about Urban Meyer as precedent has been set with OSU retiree....then again don't think he would literally doze off at a game like Andy .

I believe that I have this right, Steve, but I might be off by a year. Previously, Jimmy would have been around to clarify the matter, but even HE has left the building.

When you lose your superfans, you are within sight of turning out the lights. Jimmy was the world's biggest canary in the coal mine.
And yet, why am I morally certain that the current brain trust views his alienation as a positive thing?

The extension that the AD previously signed expires 6-30-19 and a new extension can be negotiated beginning on 1-1-19. See the link for the signed contract. 2017 Braun Extension.pdf (375.93 KB)

You're assuming that Chapman Hall has noticed (or cares) that the program is spiraling downward. Naive assumption.
