Listened to WSN Podcast with Mark Miller discussing high school basketball. The recruitment of Deantey Long from Milwaukee Washington and coach Freddie Riley was discussed. Mark believes Long will get D1 offers but most coaches will take a wait and see approach. I am wondering if Baldwin should not wait and put an offer on the table. Long is a Milwaukee kid. Certainly any feedback of his grades and character are better realized here. His attorney, coach, and peers can give Baldwin the best information. Pat Jr. probably has insight as to Long’s character and academic set. It may be that being a former MPS teacher makes me pull for the kid but I say if the study is local and accurate and Long ends up D1 anyway let’s get out there and recruit him.

I also hope Long gets a second chance. But he's a high major player for sure. If he's recruitable he'll go to a much better program in a much better conference just like Baldwin Jr. and the other kid at Washington (whose name I forget). Not sure why PB Jr. would have any insight. They don't play in the same conference much less at the same school.

I have no idea who he’s talked to but I keep thinking Iowa State will be a finalist.
