Wait a minute. Am I understanding this right that the vast majority of Milwaukee HL games have now been shifted to a NEW internet service that requires an ADDITIONAL charge per month over and above what fans already pay for ESPN on their cable or satellite service!?
Irritating as it was to have to view a game over the net on ESPN3 (with no ability to pause it or time shift it with a DVR), at least you could do it without laying out even more money for the terrible product our program delivered in the last two years. There is ZERO chance that I’m going to drop more money for this service to see HL games, and considering how our fan base has disintegrated since Braun blew up the program, you can bet I’m not the only one who won’t even consider it.
If anyone wondered what the consequences of our program dropping to low major status in a low major league would be, well, this is one of them. Basically the conference season just went invisible. Why doesn’t she just get it over with by moving us back to the Klotsche and applying for admission to the WIAC?

I'm a bit surprised that this is a shock for some. This has been out for a long while and many sports from espn3 has moved to espn+. That is what happens when you make a deal with the devil in ESPN. (Which is most college conferences)
This stinks for myself as I do watch some CFL football as all was moved to espn+. Plus, some Panther fall sports as well. I'm not paying 1 cent to the WWL. WISN is more than fine for me for the road Panther games.

I was hopeful when I saw this comment from an ESPN source in the Deadspin article that ESPN+ telecasts would be simulcast on ESPN3:
“ESPN3 will still have thousands of live events and, while some content will shift to ESPN+, we will actively program live events across both platforms.”
I accessed the updated ESPN app for the first time on my Roku today. I sampled four live and past HL volleyball and D1 college football games that were identified as ESPN+ games. Unfortunately, all of them required an ESPN+ subscription (after a free seven day trial). In other words, they are ESPN+ exclusives.
Having experienced this, I now doubt the Panther games on ESPN+ will be simulcast on ESPN3 for free. We will probably have to pay $4.99/month for 3 months to watch all of these games. While I am as spoiled as anyone over the past few years by being able to stream all those free Panther games, it is still a terrific bargain. Not long ago, we had only a few games on TV and we did not even know what streaming was. Eventually, smart TV's, streaming devices and affordable internet speeds evolved to the point that streams are easily accessed and the primary source of TV viewing for many of us. Also, with the emergence of quality, feature-packed live TV streaming services such as You Tube Live TV and Directv Now, the cost of watching traditional cable/satellite channels is lower for many consumers than it has been in years. Although we cannot put together our own ala carte packages so that we pay for only what we watch, we are getting closer to that.
Of course, anyone can choose to not subscribe to ESPN+ during the college basketball season for whatever reason - budgetary limitations, bitterness or whatever. I choose to be thankful for the technology that gives us the opportunity to watch most Panther and other HL games for a relatively minimal monetary commitment.
Finally, time shift and pause features are available, as long as viewing begins after completion of the live telecast.

Sorry ... with WSOC in the NCAA's and MSOC into HL semi's, I just haven't had time to post them all yet. Only road games that will not be on the WISN list will be 2 in Ireland.
