If Milwaukee is seed 1 thru 4, let's hope the game can be March 6th. Admirals play Texas on March 5th at the Arena.

If Milwaukee would host it, can Turner Hall or Eagles Ballroom fit a basketball court?

The failure of this idiotic single site, all-team format was inevitable. This weird one-year hybrid is probably the result of contractual obligations attendant to the league painting itself into a corner. Needless to say, the championship game will draw flies again.
I find this statement about where the tournament goes from here to be both broadly comical and frightening:
"The Horizon League Council has created an ad hoc committee to explore sites for future Horizon League Basketball Championships. The League has also retained the services of TSE Consulting, an Indianapolis based consulting firm to aid in the process.
“Opportunities to host future Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will be open to all of our member schools, and their surrounding communities, including Detroit. We are open to collaborative bids from a variety of partners,” continued LeCrone."
Here's an idea: scrap the committee (presumably it would be populated by the same geniuses who got us into this mess), cancel the contract with the consultant (complete waste of money) and go back to the on-campus format that worked and featured the nationally televised league championship game in a packed arena every year.
Of course, I have a 100% level of confidence that they will do none of those things, and will instead come up with yet another unworkable tournament format.

There are few things I'd love to see more in the next year than the bidding & selection process for 2020's tournament. It's going to be a "who's who" of who gives a sh*t.

Could it be that we'll have a Horizon League Tournament next year in Fort Wayne or Grand Rapids?! Maybe Gary?!?! Who else would have us?

Why not Milwaukee? Oh that's right....probably would conflict with the circus or womens roller derby or a truck pull event at "the" UW- Milwaukee Panthers arena (in name only)

Could it be that we'll have a Horizon League Tournament next year in Fort Wayne or Grand Rapids?! Maybe Gary?!?! Who else would have us? I know this was stated in jest, but these or similar locations may be more viable. Sometimes it is better to be a big fish in a small pond than the other way around. See the Summit League tournament in Souix Falls, for example. I realize this could spur a discussion regarding whether the HL is a big fish in any pond these days, and that support for SL teams in the Dakotas is much greater than it is for any HL team (fish and ponds come into play here also). I also have no confidence in HL decision makers to think out of the box.

Agree with last sentiment....however they did sort of think out of the box and it led to this Motor City Nonsense. They had something that worked beautifully and could not leave it alone

I will add that football at the Dakota schools and frankly a stark lack of entertainment alternatives in those states fuel fan fervor in the Summit, now a vastly superior league to the Horizon. Some outside-the-box thinking or at minimum an aggressive mindset five years ago could of course have prevented this shift in the balance of power, but alas ...

I'm legitimately curious as to what they're looking for in a bid. Are they looking to get paid? Are they expecting an event promotions company to be included?

They had something that worked beautifully and could not leave it alone You are right about messing up the old format. But I view it like this. When the HL was first approached by Motor Madness' promoter with an offer to pay cash to the HL and a sales pitch that Motor City Madness could eventually be on the same level as the MVC's Arch Madness, the HL decision makers were thinking very much in box. Thinking outside the box would have been to do something other than what more prominent conferences traditionally do. That would have included keeping the old format.
