Three out of four against San Francisco helps. Now the Brewers have a three game series against the Dodgers before coming home. Four games, 'Heap. Let's do to them what we did to the Giants! Go, Crew!

Four games.
I’m not greedy. I’d take a 6-2 road trip, although 7-1 would be nice.

The Brewers have reportedly made a last second deal at the non-waiver trade deadline, acquiring second baseman Jonathan Schoop from the Baltimore Orioles.
Schoop is a 26-year-old former All Star who hit 32 home runs and drove in 105 runs for the Orioles. He's hitting .273 this season with 17 home runs and 40 runs batted in.
Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that Luis Ortiz is headed to Baltimore in the deal. The Brewers acquired Ortiz in a 2016 trade with the Texas Rangers involving catcher Jonathan Lucroy.

In addition to Luis Ortiz, the Orioles acquired shortstops Jonathon Villar and minor leaguer Jean Carmona in the deal.
INTERESTING TIDBIT: Schoop was just named AL Player of the Week. Christian Yelich was named NL Player of the Week. This has to be the first time in MLB history that reigning Players of the Week have played on the same team!
For those disappointed about not picking up a starting pitcher, remember that waiver deals can still be made. That is how the Astros acquired some guy named Justin Verlander late last August.
I think Stearns & Co want to see how the Brewers fare by late August before giving up a more promising prospect. I like that approach.

If Chacin and Miley keep pitching like this, it becomes easier to sit tight.

And we were reminded on last night's TV broadcast that Don Sutton was acquired on AUGUST 30, 1982. That was another era, of course, but could history repeat itself???

Furthermore, the Brewers just don't use pitchers in the conventional way anymore. It's almost like they have a "second starter" lined up for every game. I guess that it's all analytics. Would anyone here be surprised to see Josh Hader or Corbin Burnes enter in the fourth or fifth inning of an NLDS Game 1 with a 1- or 2-run lead?
