[Push the university for Pat Baldwin to have a new boss. I'm curious when her contract expires. I would think it should be soon? Have you ever submitted a FOIA request on her contract? Yes. I'll have to find it.

Good read. If I didn't know any better I would have thought you just wrote a screenplay for comedy of the year .

Above yet another example of how I am more than a bit technologically challenged which is main reason behind having to change my name a few times on here, ie, Panther Steve, King Steve or whatever...ok....at the risk of piling on or being redundant would like to add some additional thoughts to Jimmy's excellent review of our AD situation above...
My concern is this. Can we indeed succeed and reach the levels of our vision much less get back to where we were with the AD situation as is. I heard Mark Mone today on WUWM speak about reaching the Big Dance regularly and all that. Preaching to the choir but on the flip side he is blind in this regard and tone deaf. Means well but....kind of speaks to the maxim you can not make a good deal with a bad person...
Can we succeed in spite of Braun?? Or can we succeed to the maximum level possible with her? Some of my observations/concerns:
*Basically hired through a dysfunctional process to begin with...political correctness etc.... *Stewardship has seen huge turnover in department and loss of some excellent employees *Team results across the board have sagged *Absence of effective relationship and promotion of program with local media, alumni etc *Seems to be a sort of odd, reclusive person with Machiavellian tendencies including a lot of defensiveness, secrecy, vindictive, micro-managing, and flat our dishonesty as evidenced by:
*lack of transparency in the Ottzenberger fiasco *Lousy demeaning decision on the foreign trip, then saying it would not look good spending money and basically misled about fact that it was primarily private donor money...petty , small and cruel decision *letting Jeter out to dry on the academic situation...her dept let down Jeter not the other way around.. *Alienating major donors , the full effect yet to be seen, ok...the $ 1 mil donation from Fred was fantastic but how does this compare in the end to the other lost opportunities not only for the athletic dept but the university as a whole, ala David Nicholas among others. *the whole situation with not accepting the invite on the mens side...in other words coming up and backfilling with some contrived standard that she said was clearly stated and communicated...not....then contradicting herself on the womens basketball side...nothing against the womens programs here intended... *resulted in total lack of trust from many sources including the players left after the coaching change... *yo8 have to really go far to alienate someone as loyal and passionate as Bill Johnson.... *the way she uncercut Jeter and hassled him..shamless..
All of the above please understand is not from a biased pro Jeter grudge against Braun....As most of you know I think the first big missed opportunity leading us not to become Butler was Haidet hiring him...wrong hire...good guy, did ok but this was the golden window of opportunity that was squandered...Rob was/is good person but mediocre coach, (boy they are really beating down the doors with coaching rumors naming him for jobs) ok recruiter, horrible PR advocate ...he was not Bruce Pearl, no, but not why did not support this from the start. Would have supported someone with experience and charisma. Conversely people, Baldwin is not Jeter so does this make one a Jeter dead ender and part of Pearl Delusional syndrome. Problem is Geiger put big nail in program and Braun is or has driven it in and now we have what we have. Crater...
Where I am at now is believing Braun must go but conversely while she is still here do not want to continually mock or bash the program or people still in the athletic department. Conflicted to say the least.....

ps - through sources also apparent that in some situation with student athletes who needed help she wanted to basically come down and punish rather than first looking at what was best for student athlete. This is where Rob Jeter also was a quality person vs a self serving cruel person .....
