The same Rob Jeter that took interviews after his first season as well?
I'm sorry. I can't get on board with any of what you are saying. Jordan knew coming into the job about the AD. He will get to go back to his alma mater with a massive pay raise in a very good conference. This has ZERO to do with the AD.

You're acting like Butler is a lateral move and the reason he is even taking interviews is because of the AD.

You're acting like Butler is a lateral move and the reason he is even taking interviews is because of the AD. I have to agree that the AD argument is quite the stretch. With that argument, Rob Jeter must've hated Bud Haidet to interview for another job after one season. The thing is after 2006, Butler and Milwaukee headed in drastically different directions. For Butler there was some luck and timing involved. For Milwaukee it was revolving door A.D.'s, lack of university commitment, and a conference that went in the tank. Butler and Milwaukee are not even close to the same level anymore. There may be opportunities at Butler for Jordan in the future but we KNOW there's an opportunity now. Gotta strike when the iron's hot! I for one hope he stays but would not be surprised at all if he leaves because it would be a significant step up (inheriting a possible Top 25 team).

It's frankly hard to argue with the second paragraph in 9193's post.

It's a huge jump in pay, a better conference, and it's his alma mater. What would I think of LJ if he didn't try for it? That being said, I don't like what I'm hearing.

That account seems like a retweet factory more than anything. Not sure how a hockey guy and syracuse alum has an inside Butler source.
Maybe it's just me hoping it is BS. Losing Lavall would be a MAJOR problem.

Would Billy Donlon ever come here after the way things played out last March? Gary Waters?
It may be time to think outside of the box.
I think that a replacement should be in place by the golf outing on July 10.
No matter, best of luck to L.J.! He seems like a class act!

Isn't Kareem still available?
Obviously LJ would be utterly crazy not to take the Butler job if offered. And I agree he seems like a nice young guy and I wish him great success there if he goes.
What too many here don't understand or won't admit is that he would also be crazy not to take the Missouri-Rolla job if offered. Or the Hampden-Sydney job. Or the Maine job. Or the Cal State-Northridge job. Etc., etc. Until things change here, any head coach with an ounce of concern for his professional future should have one goal: to leave for another head-coaching job as soon as possible. Better to control your own destiny than to leave it in capricious hands.
