Last week Tuesday, Bud announced Chuck Lang, UWM's Associate Athletic Director, will be leaving at the end of this month (March). He has apparently accepted another position at a California school. I'm told his house on the east side is up for sale.

So the question now becomes: Who will become the athletics director at Milwaukee when Bud elects to step aside?

Wow...Chuck is leaving...I hope he becomes an AD at one of those schools, he deserves it. I was one of those who believed Chuck would be the man when Bud stepped aside.
I guess, if they promote from within, that Jason Clark is first in line? Not to take away from Chuck's leaving, but this is a big deal, and Bud's not getting any younger. Of course, I don't see Bud retiring in the next 5 years anyways.

Huge blow to the Department. Chuck's direction will be missed. Stand up guy.

You can say goodbye to home-and-homes with the likes of Central Michigan, South Dakota St. and Sam Houston.

Those decisions were not Chuck Lang's...look to the basketball coaches ...
We can only pray we get a competent replacement.

Chuck Lang was half-responsible for the making of the basketball schedule, per Chuck Lang.

Oh well...he's gone now so I guess that will not be a concern anymore
Bud's going to have his hands full replacing the spots vacated by both Deanna and Chuck.

I only saw Mr. Lang in action once, at the pre-season meeting to talk about promoting the program. He was negative about every suggestion made.
At one point during a discussion of the schedule he gave me (and I am sure some others) the impression that he didn't believe people would attend the games no matter when they were held.
He may have been competent in some areas but I left that meeting wondering why we even bothered to show up.

I also don't know if cancelling the dunk contest was his idea but boy was he adament in arguing that it was a bad idea to have one. I know when I was watching the recruits at MM last year and their reactions to the stuff we were putting down, I thought to myself, "Thank God a dunk contest didn't happen because its not fair to demonstrate these types of talents to potential future players." guys like Torre shouldn't be able to display those types of skills in order to garner excitement for the future

Maybe there's a possibility of getting the Panther head logo at center court now.
