It's not like we have ill-intentioned or unsavory donors.
I do see your point to a degree. We're probably terrified of opening that door.
Still, I think that at some point we just have to get out of our own way and become a Division 1 program ... or drop out.

You mean the basketball program takes direction from its major donors and the A.D. stays out of the way? How novel! You think donors dictating direction of an athletic program is a good thing? IF that direction is a smart one? Yeah. If those donors are experienced at running successful, profitable professional sports franchises? Yeah.

During one of my daughter's recruiting visits to an MVC school, we learned that Men's Basketball isn't the only sport that benefits from WSU donor deep pockets.
