So far we have been to three universities in Michigan that offer scholarship football, WMU and two D2 schools. Tonight and tomorrow at Western Michigan University with my daughter on a recruiting visit. Had a chance to see the arena at the field house, the track and football stadium. Very nice facilities. Will get to see more tomorrow. I know there are more important things in life, but it still baffles me how so many scholarship football universities exist in other states yet Wisconsin only has one scholarship football university. I know the same people will say the same things about how UWM shouldn't start football. I get it. Just sucks that so many talented athletes in Wisconsin, like my daughter, need to leave the state to get a decent athletic scholarship.

Go to my home state of Illinois. there are 7 D1 football schools and 2 D2 ones I believe. The sad part is the flagship university in the state is now probably only the 4th best football program haha.

Kalamazoo is a nice town for college students gman. One of my sons went to college there just down the street from WMU and knew a lot of WMU students. I agree WMU has very nice facilities. I really like their football stadium. We also loved the fact he could get home occasionally by taking Amtrak. Great way to travel.

My daughter really liked WMU, which is now second on her list after Stanford (a long shot).

One more official visit remaining to Colorado School of Mines, and potential visits to Colorado State and Southern Illinois, so things could change.

She is a track and field athlete, thrower. Primarily shot put, training in weight and hammer. Looking to major in chemistry or chemical engineering. My daughter has been in contact with Pete Corfeld. I think we have an unofficial visit schedule at UWM.
