The club football team plays at Concordia today, only 2 weeks away from the big game against Marquette.
Bored? Head to the game, Concordia's campus is a short 15-20 minute drive north of campus.

Any results on this game? I'm in class with one of the CUW assistant coaches who also was a WR for the Badgers. He's got a holier than thou attitude toward UWM, and I hope to god we pummeled them.

Final score: Concordia 27, UWM 26
We were down 21-12 going into the fourth quarter, scored a touchdown and the two point conversion to go 21-20. We then got them to turnover on downs at our 30, and we marched down the field and scored to go up 26-20 with 1:57 left to play.
6 plays and 16 game clock seconds later, we finally yelled at the refs enough to let them realize the clock guy was giving Concordia extra time.
They scored a touchdown with 20 seconds left, and UWM didn't have enough time to mount an offensive.
Just to make a couple comments on the game: LaTroy Austin is a baller. The guy, our new starting QB, can run the ball, throw solid passes downfield, and he is a very smart player.
Ben Holstine re-injured a dislocated elbow, and he's probably out for the season. Really sucks, because he's a hell of a player.
I don't know who our wideout #84 is, but he has soft hands, is smart in getting open, and can situate himself to catch a ball not in his route.
This is a good team. They play Carroll College next weekend.

I know our team is a club level team, but are all the teams UWM plays in football club level, or are they the actual Division III teams? Just curious because if that was the D-III Concordia team, I'm impressed. I know Marquette is a club level team so no help needed here.

CUW is a D-III team.....there's apparently been talk of making a jump in divisions. I can't remember where I heard it, possibly from the Asst. Coach I know. Anyway, I think they were wanting to move to D-I.
Tough loss....in particular if they were worked over by the time keepers. Still gives me an opp to give this guy crap. ;D

The Concordia team we played was kind of a JV team, a bunch of players that suit up for games, but don't get to play often.
It's good for these D-III schools, because their players get experience. These are players that end up playing a couple years down the road, which is a good barometer of where UWM's team stands.
If the club team gets supported by the school, and they make a move from the club level to D-III or NAIA, then that's a BIG step. We'll probably get slapped around every time we move up a division, but it's realistic to see a Division I-AA team at UWM 10 years from the time they get into D-III.
That's a realistic look.

Since it was mentioned, the Falcons will be fielding men's and women's hockey programs for the 2007-08 season and hope to bring their basketball and football programs to the Division 1 level by 2011. The men's basketball team would be coached by Jack Bennett and will seek admission as a Mid-Continent Conference member. Football will, of course, compete in 1-AA.

Seriously? That's a pretty small campus.

Not to mention that football "stadium" is smaller than my high school's stadium.

When is the next UWM football game? If i'm not coaching that saturday, or the game is in the evening I'm attending and bringing some people with me. It has been my dream since I enrolled at UWM back in 2000 and graduated in 2003 to see a football team redevelop especailly knowing that we had one and it was cut ( can't remeber when). I know it's a long shot, but one has the right to dream.

The team was cut in 1974. I thought it was in the mid 70's but I didn't want to post anything that was inaccurate. Thanks.
