Milwaukee Basketball is excited to offer for the first time a Season Ticket Holder Referral Program for the 2015-16 menʼs basketball season. Share your enthusiasm for Milwaukee Basketball with friends, family and co-workers by referring them to be a season ticket holder. The program rewards existing season ticket holders each time they refer a customer who buys menʼs basketball season tickets. With each successful referral that purchases season tickets for 2015-16, you will receive an upgrade for two (2) courtside seats during the regular season. In addition, each person who refers a NEW season ticket holder, along with their new season ticket holder, will be invited to a special pre-game reception as well as recognized on the court during one of the 2015-16 home games. Referrals can be made online by logging onto mkepanthers.com, by contacting the Panther Ticket Offi ce at 414.229.5886, or by having the person you refer provide your name upon ordering their new tickets.

I heard recently that the blue doors in the Arena are being painted black. As already reported here, more of the blue seats are being converted to black as well. Next year it's hoped that the seat conversion will be completed and that the railings in the auditorium can be painted also. The bottom line is that the UWM Panther Arena will look more and more like its namesake.
Also heard that the Athletic Department welcomes the idea of the Admirals playing at the Panther Arena when the new structure gets built (assuming the GOP and Dems can build enough trust with each other to get that done -- don't hold your breath). That would bring more fans and consequently may lead to improved food concessions and hopefully a permanent spirit shop.
Unfortunately scheduling is proving as challenging as ever if not more so. Basically teams with hopes of making the tournament look at our returning team and new players and don't want to risk playing us, while teams with no hope of making the tournament want a payday, which we can't offer. So expect a couple D2 opponents again, sigh. The mid-major conferences have to get together to do something about this or it will be a permanent problem.
In the meantime I would make a public offer to play MU at the BC this year for FREE with no obligation they give us a return game (or even another game at their place). They could sub it for one of the awful buy games they play which would make their fans happy and give them an RPI boost, and it would help us by taking a date off our schedule while still allowing our fans to attend easily. With the Bucks stadium issue in play it would be very risky for them to turn us down. But I don't really expect they would agree: inasmuch as MU hopes to rebound from its disastrous season last year and make the tournament I expect they would be loathe to take the chance this year against a team as good as ours shapes up to be. So they'll play Savannah State or Florida A&M instead while we play Lewis or Wayne State. That's called a lose-lose for area basketball fans.

Sources tell OnMilwaukee.com that the UWM Panther Arena, which once housed the Admirals and is the current home to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's basketball programs, the Milwaukee Wave, the Brew City Bruisers roller derby league and special events like the circus and Disney on Ice, could be a viable "new" home for the hockey team. OnMilwaukee.com learned that $300,000 to $400,000 in upgrades would be needed, as well additional costs, such as glass for the boards and other hockey-specific materials, but the facility can produce ice and keep it ready for play. "It's doable," a source said. "Absolutely doable." onmilwaukee.com/sports/articles/milwaukeeadmiralsfuture.html

Good stuff, guys.
From what I'm told, our home schedule is a big mess. No one will play us. Literally no one. That tells you what others think of our roster.
This means that we're probably going to be playing Concordia, Cardinal Stritch, Parkside and Upper Iowa.
Here's my feeling about it: whenever my schedule allows, I will go support the Panthers and enjoy a great facility!

According to the JS this morning MU has announced the following outstanding additions to its home schedule: Jackson State, Chicago State, San Jose State, Maine and Grambling. I kid you not. Their RPIs last year: 323, 333, 336, 339 and the absolute caboose on the D1 railroad -- 351. And remember, MU is PAYING for the privilege of repeatedly subjecting its fans to this crap. These games are literally worthless -- they could win them all (and certainly they should) and the NCAA selection committee will just sneer at them in March.
Meanwhile, there's a team whose home court is approximately 300 FEET away from Marquette's that is looking for games, that in the last 10 years has won two regular season conference titles, two conference tournaments, gone to the NIT once and the NCAA tourney twice, has had an average end of year RPI of 160 and is poised to threaten a top 100 RPI again this year.
I understand that MU is desperately trying to pack wins into their schedule, but come on. That this game isn't being played is just a shame for fans of both schools and area fans in general.

And it gets...worse.
Marquette apparently concluded its home non-conference scheduling today by adding Presbyterian (RPI 314) and Stetson (335). This quite literally might be the worst home non-conference schedule I have ever seen by a supposed high major. Every home game MU voluntarily scheduled (as opposed to their long-standing contract game with UW or games provided as the result of pre-conference tournament pairings) is against a team with an RPI exceeding 300.
I don't know how MU will do this year, but if they are anywhere close the the bubble they will richly deserve being kept out of the tournament solely on the basis of this scheduling approach. If only there were solid mid-majors in Wisconsin, or for that matter in Illinois or Iowa, that feature players from Wisconsin and that they easily could have scheduled to improve their RPI and give their fans some games of interest. If I was an MU season ticket holder I would be livid. This is borderline theft for the prices MU charges for season tickets. If you need to find somewhere for a quiet nap this winter, head for the upper deck of the Bradley Center for any of these games.

I asked my MU buddy Vito about the Marquette home schedule and this is all he said:
"Stetson fits."

You can say about the Marquette schedule this year that it's all hat, no cattle.

I've gotten a glimpse at some of the college basketball schedules and they're a complete mess.
Could the non-Power 5 conferences please band together and do something about this?

I called the ticket office this afternoon to inquire about Notre Dame and Madison tickets. No one answered during work hours and my call went to Brian Morgan's voicemail who left the Athletic Department LAST FRIDAY. Does anyone have any idea if the AD has tickets for those road games? I'd like to make plans soon.

I received differing answers from two different people in the ticket office. One said it is possible they might get some tickets for both while the other had no idea and pretty much said that no tickets would be available.
I'm pretty much going to use the secondary market for the ND game. Doesn't seem like tickets are hard to get.
I have friends with UW connections so I will be getting tickets through them.
