Oh, I think she might be getting a call from someone about 75 miles to the West very soon. i figured Bobbie Kelsey was on thin ice awhile ago, but i didn't check to see that she had been fired until today. She was fired about two weeks ago. Kyle Rechliz has had four years in Milwaukee, but the progress the program has made was not measured in wins and losses until this year. Is one good year enough to persuade Barry Alvarez that she's ready and able to move the Badger program up in the Big Ten? i can't blame her if she's offered the job and takes it. i hope that if she does, the next coach manages to build on what is left behind. That, of course, means trusting the AD to hire someone capable...

Honestly, I don't know much about what Kyle did before she got here. And I only started following the women's team this year because of my daughter.
I'm just guessing she'll get a look based upon the turnaround this year.
And because she's a UW-Madison Alumnus.

She's paid some dues. She was an assistant coach for some pretty good head coaches before coming to Milwaukee. She was an assistant at Madison under Bobbie Kelsey for one season before getting hired to coach at Milwaukee.
I read somewhere that Barry Alvarez is looking for candidates with head coaching experience, which she now has four years of. (Kelsey was a longtime assistant coach ar Stanford when she was hired, without any head coaching experience.) Her chances probably depend some on who else has applied for the job.

Saw this on Twitter: host.madison.com/wsj/sports/college/basketball/women/badgers-women-s-basketball-george-washington-s-jonathan-tsipis-emerges/article_1df0aa96-cb3f-5ee7-bada-a6c6c554aa0c.htmlThe Kevin Borseth mention is interesting. In between his stints in Green Bay, he was at Michigan for four years and resigned, saying he wanted to be closer to his family in northern Michigan. He came back to Green Bay as Matt Bollant was leaving for Illinois. But he is not the front-runner, at least according to this article. No mention of Coach Rechliz, so it appears she's staying put for now. I have had the impression that she signed a four-year contract; if so, i hope a new contract is in the works. If her contract was for longer, i hope an extension is in the works. She spent her first three years building up the program, and her efforts and the efforts of her staff paid off in a big way in her fourth season. The team looks solid for next year and the core players are entering their junior years.
