Funny, I don't remember any Milwaukee fans treating Sam Dekker this way when he chose Madison.

Funny, I don't remember any Milwaukee fans treating Sam Dekker this way when he chose Madison. As one of my Badger buddies said Thursday night, we're just on two totally different planets ... and he's right.

i dont think Bo would go after a 1 and done, his program is more about getting players who will play for 4 or even 5 years, and be major contributors. this years Badgers team would be the favorite to win the title in just about any other year, except Kentucky is loaded. its likely the best Badgers team of all-time, talent wise. remember, Bo coached the Panthers for a couple years prior to Madison and got winning seasons out of them. Madison was one of Kevon Looney's top schools before choosing UCLA. He's widely viewed as a lottery pick in this year's draft.

We were a distant third, but he preferred us to a couple high-majors due to proximity to home and relationship with our coaching staff and players coming to our program (Cody mostly). But it was a distant third. We need to close the gap. There's a game in December that I think could go a long way towards closing that gap.

Jimmy, who was Dekker's second choice? I seem to recall him accepting Madison's offer before the phone call even ended.

What does this have to do with the state of our program?
Earth to anyone who thinks otherwise: "star" recruits aren't coming to a midmajor not named Gonzaga. Wichita State doesn't take such recruits from Kansas or Texas. No MAC or Horizon school is taking recruits like that from the elite programs of the Big Ten. Doesn't happen.
So what? It has nothing to do with the ability of our program to compete in our league. We have had four NCAA tourney teams and not one of them had such a recruit.

Next year will be the most talented team Jeter has assembled. It's sh*t or get off the pot time. Outside of the whole team getting injured in a freak bus accident en route to Panther Arena or any such c***amamie scenario Fran can dream up for an excuse, next season is make or break for this guy. Braun has no allegiance to Jeter, nor should she. Anything short of a regular season championship and deep run in the conference tournament means it's time to move on.

Stone has picked Maryland according to this twitter account. Per ESPN: One factor in the Terrapins' favor was the Under Armour connection; the shoe company sponsored Stone's AAU team. smh

But let's continue to have the NCAA continue to blow smoke up everybody's asses and label these guys "student-athletes" and "amateurs."

kids should get paid, the games they play are their jobs, goodness knows they put in enough hours watching film, and practice. the basketball and football coaches get paid millions, the kids should get a portion of the money if their team makes the big dance or football playoffs-which really should be at least 24 teams, if not 32.

noooooooooope. Europe pays really well.
Otherwise, the NBA could pony up for the talent it wants the NCAA to develop
