Would anyone happen to know the funk/soul-sounding song played when Steve McWhorter was introduced with his parents after Evan Richard before tip? I can't remember the lyrics but I want to find that song. I know they played this song early in the night but I'm not positive if it was during McWhorters intro. It kind of fits your description though. www.youtube.com/watch?v=08h0IVs4RKQIt's "What makes a good man?" by The Heavy EDIT: It could of have been this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVzvRsl4rEM I'm starting to second guess myself now.

Icelandreliant....cool to hear you enjoyed your first game. Along those lines some positives about this whole thing!! *UWM basketball at the arena is by far the best sports family value in town. In an era where everything is is so expensive to the point of pricing families out of attending this is great family value!! The kids days are awesome and well attended. It is just great to see parents and kids having a blast. To those kids it is big stuff, might as well be the NBA as far as they are concerned. Very good basketball but even better a place where it is fun but still not overwhelming with constant earblasting manfuactured noise. Kids have some room to run around. Another reasons why it would have been a crime to just arbitrarily bulldoze this historic wonderful building and lose yet another remainint niche of family affordable places one can go to. All when it is not necessary but just to please the greediness of billionarie owners. I am all for their new palace but they will live if oh My God it is one block north!!!!!!!! Unbelievable..
Regarding the team and program. I think some really good days are ahead. The APR ban was tough but it is obvious that it is making the team more mature and determined. I think the league better look out next year . Valpo will have a strong rival. We will miss Steve McWhorter yes, but on the other hand we have a very strong returning group and Austin Arians back. Akeem Springs will continue to improve along with Justin Jordan and others. Scotty Tyler and Brock Stull will improve the depth ...so many things to look forward to. Impressed with the way team played and showed character at the end of the year and obviously Rob and staff should get credit for that.

I've been hearing and I watch the postgame on ASN with Jeter that the scout is looking good. Who is all playing on the scout team? Link: 2015 ClassA bit of a breakdown of what's coming.

Steve, to your point, yesterday when all those adorable little girls came out with the cheerleaders during one of the timeouts I turned to my wife and remarked that you would never see that at the other basketball games in town. If anyone looks down their nose at us for that, I don't care. I love seeing fans in the building of every age, color and economic stratum. I love finding ways for the little kids to be involved. That's Milwaukee.
If we are securely in the Arena next year, we are primed for big things the next couple years. The coaches are very excited about the infusion of talent, and should be. Recruiting to the "UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena" is huge. I can only shake my head at the insulting suggestion that we should be the fifth wheel tenant in a new building, or worse, playing in the mini-arena down the hall, or in some curtained off space that screams "small time." It's not hard to understand the motivation behind those suggestions.

Just watched the game. It was a predictably hard-hitting affair.
Rob's a bigger man than I am. If it was me, I would have met Waters at midcourt armed with copies of the Journal Sentinel from March.
"Hey Gary," I would have said. "Man, it's great going to the NCAA tournament! You should try getting there again before you retire!"

Steve, I did go to one game last year, and one earlier this year. The CSU game was by far the best game! I have also been to 3-4 women's games at Klotsche. It's not a terrible place or anything but UWM basketball in the arena is a great fit. If you can at least get 3000 in there it doesn't seem like a bad crowd. None of the seats are too bad, the sound and video are great, and I love history so I really enjoy it. In my three years in Milwaukee I have become a huge Brewers fan and somewhat of a Bucks fan. But I have really gravitated toward UWM. My kids are in MPS and I know a couple older UWM students, and it does feel to me like the "city's team" in a way that Marquette can't, for me at least. I don't have any real strong feelings for the Badgers either, so it has been fun to feel more and more like UWM is my team. Also, I am from Iowa and went to the same high school as Malcolm Moore (long before him) so all the UWM Iowa connections drew me in.

Told him in the handshake line how proud I was of him. He has played like a champion for two seasons. I think he's the best point guard in the modern history of Milwaukee hoops and that's high praise considering some of the guys who have played for us.

Watch the interviews after the game on ASN on the DVR with JJ and Steve and both were very well spoken with the tv crews.

You know not sure I have ever felt better or more proud of a team apart from wins and losses than this year. Handled the ARP and arena thing with class. Regardless of what happens in last two road games I think this team has done pretty darn well considering the above and the injuries. Regarding the game experience we do offer something unique and special. A bit of a throwback or continuation of something which can make Milwaukee a really great place. Not saying we are Happy Days or Laverne and Shirely but on the other hand why not a little bit of a simpler time and more homey traditonal personal family environment. I really even enjoy some of the older vendors and ushers. Not everything has to be glitzy and high tech!! Involving local community school and club youth groups is just super. Kind of mirrors our mission. We are a high powered research university with doctoral programs and areas of excellence but also serve a dual mission in areas of public health and education for MPS and local area. UWM is an unbelievably huge asset to this community in so many ways and gets the short end of the stick in state funding. Drove downtown today for a client meeting and came out of the Kilbourn tunnel to see the wonderful signage on the arena. Anyway, gotta respond to Fran's comment on Steve McWhorter. I agree he is right at the top of the list of best point guards in modern era here with apologies to Chris Hill and Marc Mitchell in particular. How about this?? A MT. Rushmore of UWM point guards with Steve, Chris, Marc and Kaylon Willaims to make it four!!!

Thanks for the music reference, all. Steve is the man. 'Gonna miss that dude as a player and a leader on the court... He'll be a future business/sports mgmt leader after an overseas career should he decide on that route. Sucks for him (great for our HL foes!) that we have this APR ban, but it is nice for student-athletes to have options like that!
Hopefully we win out and March into the '15-'16 season on a positive note (2 more wins, and an article in JS stating that they apologize for being less-than-transparent about the whole Bucks Palace affair that put their newspaper's credibility into question (IMHO) and ultimately have indeed lost their bid to be the demolition location along with the historic Arena that we now get to call home... Encouraging chatter... But I'll believe it when I read it on UWM's website)- GO PANTHERS.

What this team and this coaching staff did this season is just short of amazing. 98% of the teams in the country would have shut it down after Christmas break. Now these guys had their ups and downs, but they NEVER stopped playing hard and caring as a team. Something that the leadership in the Athletic Department at this institution has NEVER done! Well, not since Bud left. What Jeter, Conroy, Beaudreau, Chambliss and the team has done is an example of class and dedication. Something Braun know nothing about. Do your homework everyone, please!
