I have been getting some bad vibes in the last couple weeks. Reading between the lines I would say there is still at least a 50% chance that the Bucks will announce the Arena site and assume (probably correctly, I'm sorry to say) that inertia will brush aside any opposition. I desperately hope that doesn't happen. If it does, Joel Claasen wouldn't take this job and the JS will recover four column inches a week to report on the Packers' lunch menus and favorite video game characters. Agreed. We're not out of the woods yet. www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/news/2015/01/14/bucks-now-say-arena-news-may-be-delayed.html

The fact that this could be delayed even further frightens me, as it gives time for negotiations. I would think that it would be more well known, however, if the Bucks and Journal Sentinel were in serious negotiations (and perhaps that the Journal Sentinel was seriously looking at other locations). It spread very quickly when the initial negotiations with the Journal Sentinel began. This is just my own theory though, and I really don't have anything to back this up. It also seems weird that Don Walker wrote an article yesterday that specifically states that the Journal Sentinel & Panther Arena site "is no longer under serious consideration." ( www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/preservation-group-survey-people-want-more-dialogue-on-arena-b99425455z1-288443171.html ) It's one thing to not mention the Panther Arena/Journal Sentinel site in an article, but it's a whole other thing to flat out say that it is not under serious consideration. I have a bad feeling about this as well, but I tend to be a pessimist myself. At least the Business Journal article still says that the area north of the BMOBC is the frontrunner, but I'll be a nervous wreck about this situation until I know this for sure.
