The idea, or at least how I would see it. Is that in a last minute play like we saw, the coaches have drawn up a play that the team knows, they have practiced it and run it many times. If you call the timeout, you give the defense time to setup and scheme , if you already have a play to run, call it and run it, no need to the timeout.
I get it.

A good reason to call a timeout is you got a freshman throwing in. A timeout gives players a chance to relax and focus. Al McGuire would've called a timeout to put attention on himself about something and let Majerus and Raymonds reinforce what the players need to do. That steal was too easy in my book, bad pass and bad catch.

I blame Fran for not calling timeout as special guest coach.

Actually I was in charge of team free throw shooting. Looks like I'm retiring at 0-1.

That was a tough loss, nothing to be ashamed about. How can losing to a lower tier Summit team be nothing to be ashamed about? As of tonight, the Horizon is 6-14 in DI games. (UIC Losing to Yale as of now, YSU plays later). We are just begging to get that #15 seed. This conference is in desperate need of a victory during March Madness.
