2 games is the definition of a small sample size, but our defense and 3-point shooting look outstanding. Not having Austin early on is a blessing in disguise. Well, it's starting to look more like a season long blessing, unfortunately.

I agree with several of your recent takes on things, SK. But 3-point shooting is one of the few things that concerns me about this team. That and the ability to consistently feed the ball into our low-post players.

I thought the Panthers took to many three's in the game. Panthers shot 28, while Crookston took only 19.

I was also stunned that the 3-point differential wasn't reversed.
There's obviously two components to getting the ball inside. One is that the guys with the ball look for their interior teammates. The second part, of course, is that the interior players make themselves available and stay aggressive.
So the big guys (they know who they are) would be well-advised to stop living at the 3-point line and shooting fadeaway 13-footers.

I have liked what I've seen so far from the team. We are athletic, play hard, and get quality minutes from the bench. JJ Panoske seems to be rounding out nicely as a versatile contributor. He adds an imposing shot-blocking presence on the defensive side, and the has the capability to post up or hit the open three (3-4 so far)on the offensive side. Akeem Springs, while having struggled a bit last night, is going to bring a lot to this team this year on both sides of the ball.
I can't say enough about our bench and how impressed I am with Justin Jordan and the Prahl twins. Although two games is a small sample size, it seems that we can lose 1-2 starters to foul trouble without diminishing the effectiveness of our offense.
I am excited for this year....
WAR PANTHERS!

If you're shooting 43% from 3 there's no need to stop. Unless you're Akeem.
