Is there a more pathetic loser story in local college basketball circles than GB's "our guys were hurt" narrative about last year? I was at that game in Green Bay. Amazing how Sylkes and Brown were able to stay on the court notwithstanding the near fatal injuries they were apparently dealing with. To listen to some of the GB posters it was like Brian Butch's elbow dislocation in '07 or Bob Lanier's knee injury in '70. Give me a break.
You think Milwaukee was entirely healthy GB? At that time of the year most players are dealing with injuries, pain and soreness. It comes with the territory in D1 ball. GB had absolutely everything going for it. Home arena, huge crowd, the best players (so we were told repeatedly) in the league. According to the newspaper stories beforehand it wasn't really even a tournament -- it was just a coronation of the Phoenix.
Someone forgot to tell that to our guys. Deal with it.

i have a feeling the lack of an NCAA Tournament berth had as much to do with Sykes' absence as the injury...if they were in the dance, he would've been on the court

I think we're jumping ahead of ourselves. This team was 7-9 and made the tournament because Jay O turned it on unbelievably Green Bay's best players suffered debilitating injuries. There's much work to be done! Sent from my SCH-R970 using proboards Fixed it for you. What, exactly, did Green Bay's injuries have to do with the Panther wins over Detroit, Valparaiso, and Wright State?

Is there a more pathetic loser story in local college basketball circles than GB's "our guys were hurt" narrative about last year?. I vividly recall Brown playing with crutches and a walking boot and Sykes bravely gutting out the second half wearing an ace bandage on his head and a tourniquet on his arm. Funny how the Green Bay fans and their coach tell Brennan Cougill, Ryan Bross and Kam Cerroni to suck it up but can't come to terms with their own "failures."

The seven people who frequent the Green Bay message board will be very upset. Well, six, since I don't care.

F#$% Green Bay and their board. They only come here because no one except a couple people post on theirs.
Their act is tired and old.
Anyway, Dylan, I keep forgetting to return your call. I think about it on the way home from work, but then get into other things and forget. You around Thursday night?
