I'm hearing maybe Nebraska on Nov. 16. I'd love to see that made official. Nebraska is slowly but surely turning it's program around.

So that might be Auburn, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, DePaul and Arkansas.
I think that's enough.

I'm not thrilled with a 2nd non-D1 team being on the regular season schedule but since Dan Weisse is now the head coach at Minnesota-Crookston, it's a good way to help a former Panther out during his first season as a Head Coach.
I believe it will also be the first time a former Panther panther will be facing Milwaukee as a head coach (Bruce Weber doesn't count since he was never a member of the basketball roster, only his brother Dave was for a season).

Sounds like there will be a third home game against MBTI. We know life is tough for schools like UWM to get home and home series started. Why can't they get deals done vs the likes of the MAC and MVC?

They had an easier schedule last year and made the tournament off of a few nice wins. If they can make the tourney again, or better yet win a tournament game I would say that they have turned the program around proving last year wasn't just a fluke. That's all I meant.

Why would a mid-level MAC team play Milwaukee when they could play UIC?
Look at Green Bay. Everyone knew they were either going to win the title or come close leaving last season. And what great team did they have on their schedule? Wisconsin was an in-state game, the same we get. Virginia is a special case; when a former player of ours becomes head coach at NC State, we'll see NC State on the schedule.
That's not Green Bay's fault. Well, it is: they played very well the season before, which scared away teams from scheduling them last year. They got Tulsa and Harvard on the schedule because they went to the Great Alaska Shootout. Those teams wouldn't have come to the Resch Center to take on the Phoenix.
There is no more difficult schedule to build than that of the successful mid-major. Everyone points to Gonzaga and Butler, but those schools had the benefit of deep pockets where they could take very little or no money to play one-off road games, and when they got big-name teams in the building it was due to connections, and the brand they had built over years. If you want the Panthers to get to that point, they need to get more money into their operating budget - that means soliciting donations specifically for the operating budget and recruiting budget (so it cannot be spent elsewhere), getting the players and winning road games, and getting in the tournament.
Basically, open up your wallets. Great teams sustain through finances.
