So it's the night before the biggest game of the year and where was Coach Jeter and Asst. Coach Chambliss? Watching Jordan Perez of Greendale take on Reed Timmer and New Berlin Eisenhower.
Perez didn't disappoint as Greendale whipped Ike by 20 plus (after losing to them by 30 plus just a month ago). Perez scored 27 (?) as he hit 5 of 7 threes. The coaches hung around long after the game was over.
Can an offer be far behind?
BTW, Timmer is the real deal. A real one man wrecking crew.
And, although I've been critical of Jeter as a coach he sure is a nice guy.

Key to long term sucess for Milwaukee is keeping these local kids right here. In my view this kid needs to end up with the Black & Gold. End of story.

I've seen him play in person twice. My two cents: He seems like a good kid and that can't be overlooked. My friend hit it on the head when he said Perez reminds him of Clay Tucker. He's the same size as Clay and has the same mannerisms. Clay was/is more athletic in my opinion. Perez's offense seems way ahead of his defense.
Apparently Perez had an offer from a D2 school in Texas but it got pulled when the coach was replaced.
Do we have a scholarship available?
My guess is that he gets offered preferred walk on status.

By my count 3 available assuming that our current underclassmen do not transfer. Aaron, Bobo, Kelm and Moore are on scholly and Stull already committed.

I'm looking for Warren Jones and Shy McClelland to be offered very soon, if they haven't already been.

Is Milwaukee recruiting any size? I understand Mid Major basketball is largely dominated by guards, but it seems they are going to be severely lacking up front with only Tiby and Panoske as the true bigs.

The Prahls are pretty big kids, but I agree. Especially if JJ doesn't start playing like he is capable of. I am in love with this abundance of big men we have this season. It has proven to be a huge asset and a big reason for why we have done so well this season. Boy do I wish we had Malcolm for another year. The kid is a rumbling bumbling monster in the paint, rebounds like his stomach has the grumblees that only basketballs can satisfy, is constantly on the ground and fighting for loose balls, and does it with an extremely surprising lack of fouls. Does anyone know why JJ has dropped off the planet. With him Malcom gone, I really hope JJ will get his head out of his ass next year. He has so much potential. He plays defense like a man, but for some reason he has been playing offense like he is afraid lately. I don't know if he thinks the paint is lava and he can't step in it or what, but it needs to change or we are going to lose the competitive advantage of having 4+ GOOD big men contributing every night.

Boy, do I wish we had Malcolm for another year. The kid is a rumbling, bumbling monster in the paint, rebounds like his stomach has the grumbles that only basketballs can satisfy, is constantly on the ground and fighting for loose balls, and does it with an extremely surprising lack of fouls. Amen! Malcolm has far exceeded my expectations and been this team's unsung hero. Word Up Magazine. Malcolm is a 1-man wecking crew when he is on (and he's been "on" for the last 7 games). Much like Jay-O.... If those two are on, Steve-O is facilitating as he has dang near every game, and Tiby, Arians, Kelm (and it's literally Kyle Kelm's last shot... when he asserts himself?) It's game over. Milwaukee wins, every game from here on out- at least in the H-League. If those 6 players and the bench (Malcolm esp., Wichman, Panoski, dare I say Evan Richard (so much talent, but has yet to consistently do the dang), Bobo Niang and even Mitch Roelke (Mitch is NOT the ("Jeter says I'll take you down a peg for paying like sh**) Zach Holt of this era- he is a legit walk-on turned A-OK presence on the floor)... A true manager to walk-on to success (at least in terms of when we need fundamental defense and 3's).... great story. And as far as bigs. I've mighty confidence in J.J. once he can understand that he can dominate in the H-Lesgue. Prahl, Panoske, Tiby (for 2 more seasons mind you!)- plus another big recruit which I am confident we will get when all is set in stone... Makes me very optimistic about the future. And we haven't even seen Prahl (or his brother who may have flown under the radar but is big and tough enough to be a great reserve and work his way into the rotation). We haven't seen what Trinson White (2-3 years eligibility?) can do. And many of us have seen what Akeen Springs can do... He's a baller. 1.. maybe 2 more bigs in the next class...? That's all we need. What we really need is a PG like Steve-O. Because he (to me at least) is one of the main reasons this team is 16-9 and not 5-20 at this juncture. It's a tough thing to balance offense and defense... Bigs and the backcourt... But we have it all (look at our roster, schollies and redshirts)- this season, and for the next 2 seasons at least. -signed "The Optimistic Krazy Apologist" PS: I wish Malcolm could play another season. But this is our time to shine for now. I'm certain the coaches will lock in a very good (or at least potentially very good) forward in the coming months.... Let's just enjoy the season. A lot rides on tomorrow night's game. Recruitment. HLT seeding. And above all- MOMENTUM. That's a train that, once in motion- is nearly impossible to stop. GO PANTHERS!!!!

IMO JJ has lost playing time cause Malcolm has been so good. Only so many minutes to go around and you need to earn them. I am not worried cause I think he will be fine next year in an expanded role. I agree that we need to recruit another big to add depth to the roster.

Perez scores 26 to lead the Panthers to a 67 - 60 victory over previously unbeaten Mt. Horeb. Greendale plays Henry Ellenson and Rice Lake in the Division 2 semifinals in Madison on Friday. This might just be the platform Perez needs to secure a D1 scholarship offer (albeit I don't think it will be from Milwaukee).
Madness for the Panthers X2.

I'd also like to see the staff give D'Angelo Jackson from Racine Case a long look. 6-4 true PG's who can get to the basket at will and guard either guard spot don't grow on trees in this state.
