www.uwmpanthers.com/sports/w-tennis/recaps/041412aaa.htmlFirst ever win over Butler in women's tennis. The Panthers currently sit in third place in the Horizon, which would be the programs highest placing ever. Quite a turnaround this program has made the last few year, big congrats to them!

Is UIC still on their ridiculous streak?
As of my last semester as UWM Post SE (spring 2010), UIC Tennis had not lost a conference match since 1997.

Glad UWM is having a good season. They are fun to watch!!

Major college tennis is dominated by foreign players and UIC is no exception. Their eight player roster consists of two Americans and six foreign players. They are coached by Shannon Tully who played at Wisconsin.
Interesting side note on UIC: They lost to UW earlier this year 5 - 2. One of the two victories was at #5 singles where UIC beat UW's Lauren Gruber. Yep, David Gruber's daughter.
Go Panthers.

Sounds a bit like some college hockey programs. I enjoyed the video Kevin posted on Twitter about the tennis team. Go Panthers!!!!!!!

I know that our old coach, Matt McCaskill, was forced to recruit almost exclusively in-state to save money.

Most great tennis players don't play college tennis, so the talent pool for tennis is way smaller than it is for other collegiate sports.

Panther women defeated Detroit on Saturday to finish 3rd, the highest finish in program history (for now). Good article in the UWM Post about the team's success this season - www.uwmpost.com/2012/04/23/r-e-s-p-e-c-t/

www.uwmpanthers.com/sports/w-tennis/recaps/040514aaa.htmlPanthers claim their FIRST ever win over UIC this afternoon! They have now won 6 in a row and sit at 10-7 overall, 4-0 in the Horizon League. They are sitting at the top of the league with 4 more to go. UIC is now 120-2 in their last 122 conference meets over the last 12 plus years. Tremendous season for this program so far.
