I'm glad Sandy is staying on to work in alummi relations. She is a great cheerleader for the school, which you need to do the job.

So who replaces Sandy Botham as coach? Anyone with Green Bay ties.

John Motherwell. That's my choice.

This is like exactly what a lot of us wanted. Personally, the only better place I could have seen Sandy land was in the athletics development office, specifically to raise money for the basketball arena. There is no one who would be able to tell donors exactly what that can do for the program better than Sandy. Of course, she can help with that from her new position as well.

Divilbiss didn't do well at Idaho.

I’m not privy of what all happened at Idaho before Divilbiss joined Green Bay. But Divilbiss’ overall record as a collegiate head coach isn’t too shabby. His overall record as a collegiate head coach is 392-241, which includes a 14 year stint at Lewis-Clark State College and 7 years at Idaho before joining the coaching staff at Green Bay.
Most recently at Green Bay, Divilbiss enjoyed tremendous success as an assistant coach for the past four seasons, while being named the Associate Head Coach for the Phoenix for the past two seasons. The combined record for the Phoenix during last two seasons when Divilbiss was the Associate Head Coach was 68-4.
Divilbiss has definitely enjoyed a lot of success at Green Bay. He may also be more comfortable in this area than opposed to the west. His wife is originally from Wisconsin, and Divilbiss is originally from the Chicago area.

You've gotta at least make the phone call.

Anyone think this was a "repositioning" of her to a new role within the university, since she's already under contract?
Not saying this was the case or not ... but I wouldn't be surprised to see her coaching somewhere once her contract is up. Tough itch to quit cold turkey.

Or is she just trying to get her 20 years in the UW System for pension reasons?

You can argue the "GB culture" was started by Carol Hammerle - elevated in a huge way by Borseth, and very well maintained by Bollant (and Divilbiss). Not really anti-Divilbiss, but Borseth's last recruit was Wojta (who redshirted her FY), as were Hoeswich, Tetschlag on down the line, so a lot of their success post-Borseth is still attributable to him, and he ain't available. . .and isn't Susie our only female HC now? I suspect we may look for a female. Regardless, it will be intersting to say the least.
