Men's Cross Country Takes Fifth In Kenosha Panthers finish second among D1 schools at open meet[/color] Sept. 18, 2004 KENOSHA, Wis. - Three Panthers finished in the top 25 to guide the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's cross country team to a fifth-place finish at the Midwest Collegiate Open, Saturday afternoon, at the Parkside National Cross Country Course in Kenosha. Milwaukee was second among six Division I teams, while taking fifth overall in the 29-team field. Junior Josh Nygren paced the UWM men, taking 12th with a time of 25:54, while classmate Nate Wiland crossed the line 17th in 25:59. Sophomore Ben Uphoff placed 25th, as freshman Nick Hawley and senior Bryan Hassemer finished together in 37th and 38th, respectively. Uphoff posted a time of 26:09, 30 seconds ahead of Hawley (26:39) and Hassemer (26:40). A pair of Panthers finished just outside of scoring in senior Micah Hanthorn and sophomore Justin Gorman. Hanthorn finished 49th in 27 minutes flat and Gorman was 56th in 27:11.
