From the sound of things not bad kids just made a poor choice and the coach stuck by his guns something that you have to respect. After reading this I feel a lot better because if they were bad kids the coaches would not try and help them get to other schools.

Ok with Aaron in the the fold we have one scholarship left. Anybody have any idea who will get it? It seems like we are mainly in on juco kids. Are we still recruiting any high school players? I recall us going after Woodard out of Duluth but I haven't heard anything about him recently. Or Arroyo Edwards out of King? I know we offered him a long time ago but that has died down too.

We're recruiting an athletic 6-foot-7 junior college wing forward.

Rob: Why only WI players??? Come on down to Chicago and recruit. You are from here and know the area. If you need some help, I'll take you around. If the school can't pay for hotel, you can crash at our place. I'll have my older son give up his room for you. I hope you are OK with CARS motiff. The pantry is well stocked with "Brewers Stadium Sauce" as is the fridge with "East Side Ale". Let me know.

If you are actually as sarcastic as you sound-- What in the flying **** are you talking about? Bitter that we haven't recruited more Chicago area kids (or maybe you are a Chicago HS coach/Dad and pissed YOUR kid hasn't gotten a look yet? (call them or send the staff an email, letter, video, whatever- but don't poo-poo on a fan site discussion board). Wtf do you mean by your blurb? Our coaches recruit the players they know will make this a better program- regardless of the "pipeline" they come from. Ryan Allen? Maybe he can assuage your angst.

Just a concerned alumni, that's all (My oldest is 5 1/2). Milwaukee is a great school and I am doing very well professionally as a result of my degree. I get a bit tired though of the SW WI/State of WI only mentality. If you really want to be a world class school, in sports, academics, etc, you need to think a bit farther than the state boundaries.
George Koonce, Rob Jeter, new womens soccer coach, etc...Heck, the new Chancellor is basically an internal hire.

If you really want to be a world class school, in sports, academics, etc, you need to think a bit farther than the state boundaries. So the fact that 9 of the current 16 players on the team hail from out of state isn't good enough?

Fact: (noun) - An objective/measurable & undeniable thing that you never want to confront when it conflicts with your subjective opinion.
People have their agendas... I just want to see us win (I suppose that's my agenda).

I originally replied to a posting way back that showed 2012 recruits, all except one from WI. Hey, I'm not hatin' - I'm just sayin', that's all.

Just sayin' what?
We have two commitments, one from in state and one from out of state. Our two biggest recruits we're chasing for 2013 are Wisconsin kids, but this year we're going to wrap up our class with another out-of-state kid.
If you're complaining about things like where players hail from, you're reaching for something to complain about. There are plenty of cases where the best players in Rob Jeter's tenure came from Wisconsin - Anthony Hill, Ricky Franklin, Avery Smith, etc. - and there are plenty of cases where the best players came from outside the state - Paige Paulsen, James Eayrs, Tony Meier, Kaylon Williams, etc.
You're reaching for something to complain about.

So what is this link about again?
Oh yeah, 2012 recruits. Here is what seems like our 2012 class:
Austin Arians Jordan Aaron (verbal) Bira Seck (not committed yet)

Elhadji Seck is not our #1 target in this class.

I've been a poster that has been pretty adamant about recruiting Wisconsin better.
The main reason why I want to see more local kids is because I think we can win by building a fence around the state and taking kids that are perceived not to be good enough for larger schools. Also it generates more interest in our program. I golf and I notice there are a ton of people who cheer for Steve Stricker and Jerry Kelly simply because they are Wisconsinites. Wisconsin people are very proud and like to root for there own.
That is just my preference though.
