At first glance I wasn't overly impressed by this schedule... Urbana? West Va Tech? But the deeper I dug in, it's not too bad of a schedule after all. Akron, Kent St., Robert Morris, Sam Houston St., St. Bonaventure, Iona, and South Florida are all really great matchups for Cleveland St. Many of these teams were tournament teams last year, and will present challenges this year. Their schedule is highlighted by a trip to West Virginia, but they'll face a ton of teams that will finish in the RPI top 150 by season's end...

I have Cleveland State going 10-8 in the conference and 19-11 overall in the regular season, pending the outcome of its yet-to-be-determined BracketBuster game.

Good test out of the gate for the Vikings with four games in four days.

That's an awesome pick-up. Averaged EIGHT blocks? Good lord.
If coach Waters starts convincing Cleveland high school talent that CSU is the best place for them as a group, watch out. There are a lot of quality players in the city.

I would guess that isn't a huge loss, since I didn't see his name of the guys playing for CSU?

mupanther:
His name's already been removed from the Cleveland State rotation. He was actually a fairly well-regarded junior college recruit who projected as the primary backup to PG Norris Cole.

According to reports, D'Aundray Brown is out at least eight weeks with a torn tendon in his right hand that will require surgery. The time frame, obviously, would include all non-conference games and the team's "orphan" conference games at Green Bay and Milwaukee.

That stinks ... he's been one of my favorite players over the last couple years. Seems like he missed time at the end of the '08-'09 season with an eye injury. The league really needs every one to be at full strength during the non-con portion of the schedule.

Awful, awful news. Their defense will suffer.
