That's to bad that the other teams in the Horizon League don't get talked about. It was just the year before CSU beat up Wake Forest in the NCAA's. Wake a one point that season was ranked #1.
I have read some things on Detroit. It's more about Ray,Jr. playing for his dad than Detroit.

Butler announces signing of four 2011 recruits. www.butlersports.com/sports/m-baskbl/2010-11/releases/111010aabCody Zeller (ranked #20 by Rivals) will make his announcement tomorrow at 1:05 PM (EDT). His list is Butler, Indiana and UNC. I expect him to pick IU, but if he picks Butler, all heck will break loose in Bloomington. It will be reminiscent of the parade scene from Animal House ... Tom Crean will be roaming through campus yelling "Remain calm! All is well!" while surrounded by the chaos of rioting students.

Yikes, Mack is a "scoring point guard" now?

Rabjohns: Mack nearly certain to leave for NBA you got that vibe from that article??? and King...i'd say so...that's based on more than his play at BU and their relatively slow tempo...by all accounts, he was great this summer

If Mack goes to the NBA and is a first round pick, I agree with the article that this is a good problem to have. If a recruit has NBA aspirations and potential, you can point to two first round draft picks that came out of the program.

Butler was a 19 point favorite going into their game against Evansville at home. They lost by 3 (71-68). I know it's early and we shouldn't make any assumptions quite yet... but could the conference be wide open again? And if so, does the Horizon League fade away from the national exposure?
Also worth noting that the loss ended Butler's two year streak of not losing a game at home... 17 games. A pretty good stretch considering a pretty tough non-conf schedule on top of the competition in the HL.

Remember Butler lost a few games last year early in the season that they probably should have had. They ended up being the 2nd best team in basketball, and I expect they will be at least in the top 16 by the end of this year. the WORST possible thing that could happen to the horizon league, in terms of national exposure, is if Butler goes undefeated in conference again. That being said, I like our chances against the bulldogs at the cell this year.

I was shocked to see Butler lose at home to the Purple Ace's.

Butler lost to #16 Minnesota; #19 Clemson; #13 Georgetown; and unranked UAB (who went on to the Quarterfinals of the NIT). There is no way Butler finishes ranked this year. Of course, all they have to do is beat #1 Duke on Saturday to prove me wrong. I said back before the season that the Top 5 teams in the Horizon would be Butler, CSU, Valpo, Milw, and Detroit- and not in that order. Loyola and YSU (even with their great starts) haven't really played anyone yet. I will watch the end of the But-@loy game as soon as I get home from the Titan game on Wednesday.
