That's exactly right Dylan. UWM can easily match a 9 of 26 three point shooting effort. That's a pretty mediocre to awful shooting percentage. We need to play defense, and that's all about desire and discipline. Until this squad wants it more than the team we're playing, each game will be a struggle. To me, that comes down to coaching. Butler is a fine example of a program that has engrained that notion in each and every player it recruits. Awful? That's 34.6%. Not spectacular, no, but certainly not awful.

Agreed, awful was too strong a word. It was more to make the point that we need to worry about defense first.

Interesting quote, with reference to the Clemson game: "Howard was again plagued by fouls -- he has 27 in six games -- and finished with 10 points in 25 minutes."
So is his acting getting worse, or do non-Horizon League refs recognize flopping when they see it?

I wish we had the problem of losing to two rank teams by a combined ten points and thinking the world was coming to an end.

I wish we had the problem of losing to two rank teams by a combined ten points and thinking the world was coming to an end. Very true. It would be nice to be so successful. Let's hope we get there sooner rather than later.

Barring a complete meltdown, I think it is safe to say Butler will take the regular season championship.

No question. Butler will be the No. 1 seed.
Everyone else other than UIC and YSU are competing for No. 2, no small prize in this conference.

That's the great thing about the tournament structure that rewards the #2 team. When you have a season like this in which there is little question about the #1 seed, the reward for #2 keeps more teams fighting and keeps fan interested high when it otherwise might be lower.
