How can I/we change this school? By the time I leave this place, I want the students and faculty of this school to be proud of their school, to have faith in their school, and wear the UWM clothes/colors proudly. I want to see people CARE about this school. How do we change this? I want people to know who Milwaukee is throughout this nation. I want people to know the school song, the alma mater song, and most of all I want our sports getting the respect we deserve and I want them to compete at a higher level, maybe even become a powerhouse. HOW I ASK, HOW DO WE CHANGE IT?
Is it in our a.d.? marketing? academics? name?

Look back through the tons of messages regarding this on the board. It's the same old thing, and it takes time. Right now the Athletics Department at UWM is doing all they can. Private changes can only lead to so much, believe me, we've tried.

Private changes can only lead to so much, believe me, we've tried. On top of that it takes money, and with the economy the way it is right now the AD is doing everything they can on a shoestring budget. Sadly, it comes down to winning. Student will come if the team is winning... unfortunately there is no large (like thousands of people) die-hard fan base that will stick through the hard times. It is in fact a waiting game...

We being the "original" and I use that term loosely, Klotsche Krazies. Sadly of the few who started the board, organized essentially the SBGC with John Jay, put out the student section t-shirts, handed out fliers, literally dragged other students to the games, don't post here any more. There is only a few. Ask fan or John Jay, they'll know...

beat either mu or uw and watch our attendance #s spike up. the problem is we have to consistently beat these teams. The only way Milwaukee will ever be respected as a program will be if: 1. They have a CONSISTENT winning program, and 2. They get solid local media coverage. The reality is that without media coverage, the average fan will never be interested. The average fan in Milwaukee only wants to hear about the Packers, the Badgers, and (for the time being) the Brewers. However, the biggest step for UWM students and fans is to develop some actual interest in the university and the sports on campus. When I was there the morale at the university was awful and the following of the sports teams was virtually nonexistent.

the way to get students at this university to show up to games is drinking, you have to have parties that the way you get in is if you have a game ticket. the only problem is there are tons of parties going on especially on the weekends. another problem with this is for some reason students decide parties should start at 8 or 9 instead of later.
an idea me and a few friends tossed around is for students in the SBGC, who are here throughout the summer should apply to be CA's, cause they have the chance to talk to hundreds of incoming students and can get the word about athletics out before the school year starts.

Drinking is not the answer. You cant just tell everyone to get drunk then come to the games, or tell everyone to pause their drinking and go to the games. Not a good answer at all.

Drinking might not be the answer, but it can sure as Hell be a part of it. Obviously, alcohol can have a large impact on bringing people together. The kids want to drink anyway, organize the event into the "celebration". It's not hard. Use this secret wisely.

Does CA=campus ambassador or person who walks around showing the school to freshmen? Seems like a very good idea. I'm not sure if Mr. Lemke has already done this, but he seems to have a good grip on the newer fanbase. I think (and I'm not sure because this was before my time) a lot of the initial success of the Krazies came from Mr. Kack being a former RA in the dorms and knowing lots of students from that. Being an RA is kind of a sacrifice though because many students prefer to live off campus.

We have an RA working for us. Beartrap and Traub are onto something, I think I'll definitely look into being a CA.

yes fan, ca is campus ambassador. and jimmy is just the person we were talking about when we came up with the idea, but he cant be the only person since he only has next year left. I would think about doing it but i am transfering out after this year, and i have a job back home during the summer.
I have been in contact with my former RA and he is willing to work with us to get information about the games and other athletic programs.
