All the HL teams have played 10 conference games and IMO Dylan has earned POY and can not be overtaken. I think it is time to start discussing who will make first and second team. Here are my perdictions:
POY = Dylan Page - UWM
1st team HL Dylan Page - UWM Cedrick Banks - UIC Seth Doliboa - WSU Paul McMillan - LU Omari Westly - CSU
2nd Team HL Vernard Hollins - WSU Ed McCants - UWM Brandon Morris - UWGB Mike Monzerez - BU Martell Bailey - UIC
After looking through the list of players, this is actually pretty hard. Try it for yourself. I am still debating if Westly earns a 1st team spot, but he is 7th in scoring and 1st in rebounding.
Other people who could receive considerations are the following (in no particular order)
Mike King - UWGB Joah Tucker - UWM Jermaine Robinson - CSU Elijah Warren - UDM Doug Underwood - YSU Adam Baumann - YSU

How about another award ... Newcomer of the Year?
Does McCants or Tucker get that?

Doliboa is a dog. He has numbers, but he won't be first team. Westly's team may go winless in league. I like King for first team. Boy, the league is pretty weak. 35

I don't see Doliboa or Hollins making 1st team this year for the Raiders, but they should both be second team. Neither player has to do everything they've been asked to do in years past, because we actually have other players who can pick up the slack. It's amazing what can happen when you get a coach that can keep his players, and motivate them to play up to their potential. And the great thing is, all those guys are freshmen, and it's going to make for a great team over the next few years!
By the way, is there an All-Newcomer Team? If so, expect to see Dashaun Wood on there. That kid is so cool under pressure, very quick, and overall handles the ball very well. He still makes some bad decisions, but that's to be expected with a true freshman running the point.

Not to disrespect anyone, but I think that the POY is a two man race. There are a few other players in the league having good seasons that you could argue for (Doliboa) but I think Banks and Page stand above all the rest.
Although Banks may be more explosive and streaky, I think that Page has been much more consistent - and therefore have to go with DP. Banks seems to disappear for parts of games (even a half) and then turn it on. When he turns it on, he is as good as anyone, but DP tends to play the whole game. Also, I think that DP offers a little more than Banks in other categories. Here are their stats to date (for ALL games) - they are pretty close.......
Page FG%: 52.7 3%: 42.2 FT%: 79.3 Reb/game: 6.8 Assists: .9 TO: 2.29 Blocks: 1.19 Steals: .48 Points: 21.1 Banks FG%: 45.7 3%: 44.5 FT%: 76.0 Reb: 3.4 Assists: 2.1 TO: 1.7 Blocks: .21 Steals: 1.47 Points: 19.0

McCants is a first-team selection and newcomer of the year.

hands down POY is DP.
no one else has even come close to the consistant level of play that he has had all season so far. but as far as the newcomer award i think it should be McCants as well as kaygee, but im not sure about the first team selection, although he has shown he is deserved of much consideration for it.
