Great for Ed, Joah and BP! Very deserving. How do you guys feel about Adrian being left off the second team and Boo being left off the all-newcomer team. It felt to me like these were two no-brainers. It seems to me that UWM doesn't run away and hide as league champions with just two first-team players. Again, I think that at some point team success has to outweigh individual achievement and A.T. is the consummate team player.

Someone please explain how Mendiburu is on the first team?
Also, how is Boo not on the all newcomer team?

Did Boo Davis get ripped off? I thought he would have been on the All-Newcomer Team.
Boo needs to show he deserved an award and DOMINATE in the H.L. Tourny.
Later, UWMfreak

Can't argue with that first team. Would've been nice to see Boo on the Newcomer Team, but oh well.
Congrats Ed and Bruce!

If Westley is considered for all-league honors (and I'm not quite sure how this can be given the developments of the past week), then how is Mendiburu on the first team over him. I believe that Javier was hyped harder (and he stats perhaps padded more) than anyone else in this league.

To take it a step further, I think that Flores was more deserving of first-team honors than Mendiburu given the contributions to their team over the last month. Also, although Cotton generated considerably more headlines, I think Benito might be a more deserving Newcomer of the Year.

I think AT of anyone got ripped off. He has had a great season this year and should have been recognized for it. He had big games agaist Purdue and Hawaii. Maybe he could have even got comeback player of the year

He had big games agaist Purdue and Hawaii. Maybe he could have even got comeback player of the year I feel he should've been at least second team as well. The problem was Purdue and Hawaii were non-conference games and theoretically those games don't factor in. AT has been back for two years now and there is no comeback player of the year. Anyone surprised that UWM didn't land anyone on the defensive team? Could it be just because the system is so sound that you couldn't pick out a specific player?

did anyone see that post on UIC's board for Banks being player of the year. haha what a joke.... it has like 4 pgs of comments. i guess that you have nothing better to talk about when you are a sub par team just barely floating above 500 in the HL. congrats to ED and JT and BRUCE. and congrats to the rest of the team for playing exceptionally well in the shadows of our stars. we all on this board reckognize who the guys are and its too bad taht they werent reckognized by the rest of the committee. we know how huge they were. GO panthers!!!!!!!!!

Hack, I was very surprised that not a single Panther was named to the league's all-defensive team. I felt strongly that as many as four or five guys could have been considered for all-conference honors -- Ed, James, Jason, Adrian and Boo are all strong defenders. In my mind, this is the place where guys like especially James and Jason could be listed. Of course, this list -- unlike the first and second teams, POY and COY -- are chosen exclusively by the coaches. So this is the list where you can see pettiness raise its ugly head.
